A Magical Experience!
Recently our Girls Hope scholars and staff were given the opportunity to see the renowned classical Chinese dance company, Shen Yun, performing at the Peabody Opera House. The girls were awed by the dancers and enjoyed the experience of dressing up and attending a performance as a house. Many thanks to Lisa Flavin, who invited them to come with her, for making their trip possible!

Beyond simply traditional academic support, it is always our aim to expose scholars to varied and enriching cultural experiences to broaden their worldview and help them develop vital cultural literacy that will serve them well in college and beyond. As summer approaches, our staff are working hard to ensure the scholars' camps and extra-curricular endeavors will do just that.

So far this year, scholars have expressed interest in a broad range of activities, including engineering, cooking, veterinary medicine, football, art, and medicine and health care. Several have already applied to nationally acclaimed programs through the National Student Leadership Counsel, the American Youth Foundation, and the NCADA. Additionally, six scholars will take part in our BHGH national Collegiate Prep week.

It is our hope that all of the scholars will have a wonderful time diving into something they find interesting while also gaining personal skills and insight into what they may like to pursue in the future, and we are incredibly grateful to our partners within the community who help make that a reality.
