Your March To-Do List
Look for a special event recap of the Tucson Festival of Books. Major kudos do co-chairs, Karla Cafarelli and Lou Apperson! It was a great event. Here is a teaser of the news to come:
Chef Bruce Aidells skillfully demo-ed two tasty beef recipes from his newly published cookbook, "The Great Meat Cookbook." Top: Braised beef 7 bone chuck roast with tequila, tomato and orange (he lit this one on fire) and bottom: Sauteed filet steaks with Rockefeller pan sauce (that means oysters - the kind of the salt water, not the Rocky Mountains).

Finally, 4-5 Cowbelle volunteers are needed to assist with judging the contest that morning. You would be needed from approximately 9am - 12noon. Please let Katy Wright know if you are available by contacting her at [email protected] or 520-444-4176.

Mattie Cowan Scholarship

The Scholarship Committee made four major changes to the scholarship program. All Local Presidents have been notified with a letter and a copy of the scholarship application; additional notices were handed out at the Dec. 28th board of directors meeting. After January 1st, the educational outlets will be notified.

The committee's request is to have all Cowbelles get the information out to worthy students.

Scholarship Application Deadline - April 15th. Application can be found on our website HERE

Any questions, please contact Linda Vensel - 520.394.2023, [email protected].

We received a note from Grant Samsill who received the ASC Scholarship this year. He is a freshman at NAU and received straight A's in his course work carrying 15 units and taking a pretty difficult curriculum load. We also received a very nice thank you note from Grant expressing his thanks for ASC's help with his education.
