 Both Levies Passed
A big thank you to all who voted for the levy renewals.
Both passed by a huge majority: Capital Projects Technology Levy (74%) and Transportation (77%). We are grateful to our community for keeping Mercer Island schools strong. Thank you everyone!

Our Box Top classroom challenge has officially started.
The class with the most box tops collected by April 1st will receive a Popcorn Party with a free recess and be awarded the Box Top Trophy.

MI Fine Arts Showcase
April 5th & 6th, 5:30-9:30pm

Sponsored by the Mercer Island Fine Arts Advisory Council and MISD, the Fine Arts Showcase is an annual fundraiser featuring performances by MISD performing arts students as well as artwork displayed by all elementary students and those participating in visual art classes at IMS and MIHS.
For two nights, Mercer Island High School is transformed into a beautiful art gallery with demonstrations and performances. Tuesday night is a spotlight on visual arts, with art demonstrations, activities and small ensemble performances, and Wednesday night features concerts by band, orchestra, choir and drama students as well as a special performance by the all 3rd grade choir.
Event is open to the public and tickets start at $10 in advance, good for both nights. Proceeds benefit fine arts education programs throughout MISD.

Talent Show Thank Yous
Island Park's Talent Show was a huge success. The children were amazing up on stage and gave us all a fantastic night to remember.
Thank you to Susan Hamp and Andy Hamp for all their hard work and commitment. Thank you to those who worked behind the scenes; Crystal Taitague, Sharon Jarnigan, Kate Lepp, Kristin Brintnall, Liana Montague and Christy Kenyon. And thank you also to Nate, Cornelius, Thach, and KidsCo for their assistance and flexibility.
Last but not least, thank you to all the kids who took part, their parents and all those who came to support them on the night.

Destination Science Camps
The fun science day camp for curious kids from 5-11. From roller coasters to robots, Destination Science provides a fun, safe and hands-on environment for exploration with STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and next generation science standards. Choose from Roller Coaster Science, Robot Challenge Science, Space Quest Science, and Super Hero Physics Science Camps. Held at Northwest Yeshiva HS, Mercer Island (and other venues).

The Chess4Life After School Chess Club is designed for students of any ability. Kids Cooking with Cook, Learn, Grow!
If your child LOVES to cook, then our after-school cooking program is just for them! Sponge Language Classes
Happy Holidays from Sponge! Fall activities are wrapping up, and it's time to start thinking about winter enrichment. Join Spanish or French at Island Park. Early language learning is such a wonderful gift, and with our immersion-based, spiral curriculum, students can successfully join at any time. Plus, we prorate for winter starts!
French is held before school from 8:00-9:00am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Spanish has been very popular this year, and there's a few spaces left in our after school class on Mondays. All classes are held at Island Park.
