Parent Edge Rep needed!
Join a group of engaged parents representing all five Mercer Island schools and St. Monica's. Parent Edge committee members research topics and speakers to bring to our community. The team meet five to six times during the year to discuss marketing and planning for upcoming speaker events. Parent Edge is a program under the Mercer Island School District PTA council. BAND TOGETHER
A Band Fundraiser for Grades 5 - 12

Mercer Island Community Center
Come together. Don't miss this unique evening to support Mercer Island School District band programs. The evening's theme, "Rockin' the Casbah," will feature an eclectic mix of music, wine, beer, hors d'oeuvres and desserts with a Moroccan flair along with one-of-a-kind Live and Silent auction items. SKI & SPORTS SWAP Volunteers Needed
This annual tradition is a wonderful opportunity to come out for a few hours and make a huge difference AND be first in line for the sale! We are still in need of volunteers on November 6, 7 and 8. It is only 2.5 hours of your time! As a volunteer you will be invited to "pre-shop" on Friday night.
IMS PTSA Ski & Sports Swap will be November 8, from 8am -2pm.

Toy Swap is coming soon!
November 15th at Islander Middle School
Clean out your playroom and donate toys and gear to MIPA. Toy Swap proceeds fund MIPA charities such as preschool scholarships and parks for our own community. Both donations and consignment will be accepted at all remaining drops. For consignment instructions visit www.mipreschoolassociation.org/toyswap.Clothes and shoes will be accepted, but will be merchandised differently this year. Some items may be donated to other charities. Upcoming drops are at the Old Boys & Girls Club on W Mercer WAY: Tues Nov 4, 7-9 PM Wed Nov 12, 7-9 PM Thurs Nov 13, 7-9 PM PRE- EVENT, Nov 14, 4:30-7 PM, Mercer Island Middle School. Island Books Brunch and Browse is coming quickly!!
Thursday, November 20thWe will be hosting delicious bites and refreshing libations while you shop 9:30-12pm! Post it to your FB wall! Send an appointment to your calendar!! Share and Pin and Tweet so we have a great turnout!!! We will be having our Raffle again this year-enter your teacher's name to the box at the Brunch and Browse event and they could win a $50 gift card. What a great way to catch up with friends, do some early holiday shopping, and support Island Park PTA- we get 20% of IP sales, including gift cards up to $200!

Lost and Found
Don't forget to check the lost and found at the school! Lots of coats, sweatshirts, swea
ters, and lunch boxes. Lost and Found items are hanging on a rack in the main hall way shortly after the office. Items found in September will be donated to MITS the first week of November.

Help Support our Local MI Businesses!
In partnership with the City of Mercer Island, Island Park Elementary PTA is designating Tuesday, November 11th as our official "Dine Local" day. The Dine Local Campaign supports Mercer Island restaurants in their attempt to regain crucial revenue lost as a result of the recent E.coli related imposed shutdowns.
Our IP PTA is encouraging families and community members to patronize our local MI restaurants on November 11th as a sign of our collective support! Let's all make a difference together and keep it local!

The Mercer Island Schools Foundation is looking for a few talented, conscientious and dedicated volunteer board members to help lead and strengthen our successful fundraising programs.
Ideally, our Board representation includes individuals from all neighborhoods on the island with or without children in Mercer Island Public Schools.
Additionally, all Mercer Island Public Schools are represented by Board membership.
Would you like to contribute a few hours of your time every month sharing your thoughtful leadership to help make our Mercer Island Schools the best they can be?
Your investment of time will help ensure all 4,200 students grades K-12 attain the full promise of their academic success!

Mercer Island FC (MIFC) is proud to announce a NEW program! Our Fall Technical Director "TD" Friday Academy The Fall TD Friday Academy will continue to build on MIFC's dedication and investment in player development. The Fall TD Friday Academy will be led by MIFC's own Technical Director Darren Sawatzky. Darren Joined MIFC in 2014 to help educate coaches in proper player development. Darren led the Seattle Sounders Academy for 8 years before joining MIFC. He personally coached FIFA World Cup starter D'Andre Yedlin and Mercer Island's own US Men's National Team member Jordan Morris, as well as many other professional soccer players. Darren is one of only a few MLS academy coaches nationwide participating in the Elite Formation Coaching License program offered in partnership with the French Football Federation. The Fall TD Friday Academy will be a fast-paced, fun filled training environment providing players with activities and games that are purposefully fun while simultaneously developing their fundamental skill base. Your child will learn the ways, and dribbling moves, of Messi, Renaldo, Dempsey, Yedlin and the likes! The Fall TD Friday Academy is open to registered Mercer Island FC players, recreational and select, who will be broken into 3 age groups: K - 2nd, 3rd & 4th, and 5th grade and older. The 6 weeks of fun and learning provided by the Fall TD Friday Academy can be had for $90. To Register click HERE
MI Boys Youth Lacrosse - Parent Orientation Meeting (Grades K-8th)
November 18th, 7pm at Islander Middle School MPR
Meeting is mandatory for all current and incoming families (excluding black team parents). This is your opportunity to hear from and ask questions of program director and varsity coach Ian O'Hearn as well as MI Lacrosse Club Board President Edith Rothenberg. Together, they will give a program overview, go over program philosophy as well as expectations at each grade level, for your planning purposes they give important dates related to spring lacrosse and registration, go over program guidelines, volunteer opportunities, and much more. Lacrosse merchandise will be available for purchase and you won't want to miss the door prize raffle!
Sign your student up for free Kids Corps tutoring!
Kids Corps is a 10+ year old club that will pair your elementary school student with a responsible Mercer Island High School student who will tutor your child for an hour every week at a place and time that works for you! Sign up here ASAP, space is limited!

Bellevue Magic Season Ice Arena

Bellevue Downtown Park Skate and celebrate at the Magic Season Ice Arena, the region's largest open-air holiday ice skating experience! The festive venue offers shelter for all-weather skating, seasonal food,beverage concessions, and music from STAR 101.5. This is also an easy fundraising opportunity for our school.
