E- Parent Packs 
The PTA E-Parent Pack went 'live' on August 30th! If you have not had the opportunity to go online and complete your Back-2-School registration and payments, please do so now -
CLICK HERE and complete the
easy form. It takes about 3 minutes! You can pay via credit card through PayPal, or print your completed form confirmation and send it into Island Park with your check made out to Island Park PTA.
You should also have received a hard-copy "Back-to-School" form in your child's backpack. This form is just another communication avenue for the PTA to ensure we reach all families! If you have already completed the online form, simply fill in the first side of the hard-copy form, sign and return it to school. If you have not completed the online form, you may fill out both sides of the hard-copy form and send in your payment that way.

The suggested donation of $125 per child ($250 for two and $375 for three) accurately represents cost of the PTA funded enrichment programs. IP families do not have to make a donation in order to participate. PLEASE NOTE: If you have already completed the online back-2-school E-Parent Pack payment form, you may have already donated. A $125/student PTA Operating Fund donation request was part of the parent pack payment form.

Island Park Choir
Starts September 23rd 
Mrs. Hamp and Mr. Hamp are excited to start singing again with the Island Park Choir and hope your child can join them! Choir is open to all fourth and fifth graders and meets before school on Tuesday. Fall session rehearsals will run from September 23rd to November 6th and will culminate in two Veterans Day performances on Thursday, November 6th. Music Room Volunteers Needed
Sept. 22nd - December 5th 
Starting the week of September 22nd and continuing through December, students in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade will be focusing on reading music by learning how to play the piano or recorder during music. This unit will culminate in a class recital in which every student will play a song of their choice. To provide students sufficient feedback and one-on-one time, Mrs. Hamp desperately needs volunteers.
Volunteers main focus will be to listen to students individually play their instruments and provide feedback and encouragement. Mrs. Hamp need parents who are willing to help correct papers and assist the students with their instruments.

Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers at our first annual ICE CREAM SOCIAL: Lea Guerra, Michelle Ritter, Steve Dalton, Julene Levine, Jen Sadlier, Vaux Family, Erin McGuire, Beth Dudycha, Jenny McPherson, the Heydon Family and our 5th grade helpers! Thank you to the stellar team who conducted VOLUNTEER TRAINING during curriculum night: Melissa Prock, Mindy Smith, Kendra Hubble, Abigail Little. Kudos to Jola Jensen putting together a lovely dinner spread for our teachers during the curriculum nights. The Teachers really appreciated it. Big thanks to Edyie Katz and Jen Draper for hosting the NEW FAMILIES COFFEE. And as always, the PTA would like to thank Miss Kristin for always helping us with EVERYTHING!

IP International Night -

International Night - Still Time to Get Involved! International Night is October 17 and there are currently 15 countries signed up to tell our community about the things that make their country of choice special. If you are interested in teaming up with a current country, please send an email to jessicacrump@Hotmail.com. Whether you join as a country representative or as a fan of learning about other cultures, we hope you and your families will join us in the multi-purpose room, 6-8pm on October 17!

Hearing and Vision Screening
Monday, October 20th in the library! 
We will need about 40 total parent volunteers for the two shifts that day. No experience is necessary as the school nurse will provide training on the spot. It's a great way to get to know the kids, and by screening every year we are able to help a few kids get the hearing or vision help they need to be successful! MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD IN OLYMPIA  The 2014 Legislative Priorities Survey is out and is due by September 30th. This is a great opportunity to make your voice heard about what matters to you in education for the upcoming legislative session. Parks and Recreation fun fall events
Monster Mash Dash: Family FUN RUN Sat., October 25 at 10am
Dress up and join us for a run or walk through Luther Burbank Park. Runners will run from the south end of the park to Calkins Point and back. Don't forget to dress up for the costume contest with prizes awarded! Dogs on a leash are welcome and also encouraged to wear a costume!

Eastside Dream Elite Cheer Program Fall 2014

Do you have a child that is interested in Cheerleading? Eastside Dream Elite Cheer is the program for you! It is a six-week session. We perform out in the community; such as UW basketball games, Storm games, Issaquah Salmon Days Parade, Parade's on Mercer Island, and so much more.
