Thank you to the 120 parents who responded to the recent PTA Survey

In the survey, we asked how YOU would like to fundraise for Learning Support, such as Paraprofessionals and / or Specialists, in the coming years.

The survey showed that:

50% (60 parents) would like to keep the Fall parent pack 'ask' & Spring Auction
33% (39 parents) would like to increase the Fall parent pack 'ask' and do a simplified Spring Party
11% (13 parents) are willing to volunteer 11 hours or more for either event

Putting on a Spring Auction or Party is a tremendous amount of work. Thirteen people working 11+ hours is simply not enough volunteer time to put on either event. We cannot sustain this type of fundraising unless more parents are willing to help.

As we finalize plans for fundraising next year, we need to know parent willingness to help plan and execute either a Spring Auction or Spring Party. Based on the Sign Up Genius response, we will determine what type of event (if any) is feasible for next year to fundraise for future Island Park Learning Support. If we receive enough volunteer response, we will contact those volunteers and discuss putting together an Auction or Party committee.
