From The Health Room

Make a Plan!

This week IPE had an earthquake drill. We have 3 days worth of supplies for taking care of the staff and children here in case of disaster. (Do your children have critical medications? I can keep a supply here in case they can't leave for some time.)

The best way to protect your family is to plan and prepare ahead. Involve children in the planning! Let them pick foods and games for your disaster kit. Here are some of the standard items: one gallon of water per person per day, two week supply of food, battery powered radio, first aid kit, medications and cash. Also, include needed baby supplies such as formula and diapers. What will your pets need? Do your children know how to call 911? Add emergency contact cards to children's backpack. Let's work together to keep your children safe.
