Kindergarten Roundup Monday, January 27th West Mercer
MISD will host Kindergarten Roundup for parents of incoming kindergarteners. This is a chance for families to learn about our kindergarten program, meet the principals, and start the enrollment process for 2014-2015. We ask our parents to help us get the word out to friends and neighbors who may not have children in the school district. Should parents and families have any questions they can reach out to Jan Kentnor or Fred Rundle in the Learning Services office.

Win A Pizza Party! - MIYFS Annual Art Contest
This week all K - 5th Grade students at Island Park Elementary will bring home an entry form for the Annual Mercer Island Youth and Family Services' Art Contest. One entry from Island Park Elementary will be selected and that winner's class will receive a pizza party compliments of Island Crust Café.
"It's ALL about community." is this year's theme for the Annual Giving from the Heart Breakfast on February 12. Please talk with your child about all the things he/she likes about living and playing on Mercer Island.
And remember, Sivie Suckerman, Island Park's school counselor runs programs to help all of our children learn how to resolve conflict, regulate their emotions, and ultimately strengthen their executive functioning. Sivie is a MIYFS counselor for the sole benefit of Island Park students and families.
