Volunteering
All of our volunteers at Island Park must attend a mandatory volunteer training and have a background check completed before helping at school. If you have already completed a training while at IP, there is no need to repeat the training.
Please bring a photo ID such as a drivers license or passport.

Choose one of the following 1/2 hour sessions, held in the library:
  • Tue, Sept. 17: 5:30PM, 6:30PM, 7:30PM

Volunteers Needed in the Music Room

If you can spare an hour or more a week during the months of Oct. and Nov., you can be of great help in the music room! During these months, all students in 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades focus on the concept of melody by learning piano skills while the 4th graders learn songs on the recorder. Volunteers main focus will be to work one-on-one with students at the piano keyboards or on the recorders, giving them additional encouragement and feedback. With all the different levels and individual rates of learning, extra adult assistance is extremely important. If you, or someone you know, could volunteer in the music room, the children and I would be extremely grateful!
Please contact me at susan.hamp@mercerislandschools.org or send in the attached sign-up sheet. Thank you, Susan Hamp  Volunteer Sign Up Form

Hearing and Vision Screening
Tuesday, October 22nd, IP library

Hearing and Vision screening will be held Tuesday, October 22nd, in the library! We will need about 40 total volunteers for the two shifts. No experience is necessary as the school nurse will provide training on the spot. It's a great way to get to know the kids, and by screening every year we are able to help a few kids to get the hearing or vision help they need to be successful!

Please contact Lori Friedman at loriRfriedman@hotmail.com to sign up!
Island Park Choir
