Next week we will gather at Enders Island for the 2014 New England Synod Women in Ministry retreat: "The Evolving Role of Women in Church and Society: Legacy, Reality, and Dreams." !!! Here is some information you may find useful!
+ REGISTRATION will begin on Monday, May 5th at 3 PM in St. Michael's Hall which will be our gathering spot for the event. Here you will sign in, find your room (all singles with bathrooms down the hall) and settle in for the retreat. We will meet around 4:00 pm for one session before dinner. We try to have a gentle schedule which revolves around meal times, worship times, and several theme sessions. There will be free time!
+ The retreat will conclude by 12 noon on Wednesday, May 7th. We normally have a picnic lunch so that you can take it with you as you travel home, or stay at the retreat center and eat outside.
+ WEATHER: Enders Island is indeed an island which you reach by causeway. On windy days it can be quite chilly, so pack accordingly. On warm days, it can be quite different. Layers are good! Casual is good! There are lovely neighborhoods nearby for walking and/or running and there will be plenty of free time to enjoy outdoor activity. The gardens and ocean are also wonderful places for quiet meditation.
+ PACK YOUR BOOK/BOOKS YOU WISH TO SHARE FOR OUR 1ST EVER BOOK SWAP! Bring a book that has nourished you in some way that you wish to share with someone else!
+ SNACKS: Through the years we have found that we receive more than enough food during mealtimes, and even cookie trays for snacks. You may bring snacks and/or beverages to share in the evening, but consider keeping them light and healthy. (just a thought- although chocolate is always good! :)
+ MASSAGE will be available by Debby Bailey. Her fees remain the same: $55 for a 55 minute session; $30 for 25 minutes. You can sign up on Monday. You pay her directly.
+ REIKI will be offered by Pam Vollinger. She will offer 20-30 minute sessions as her time allows. No charge.
+ Any reservation changes please call Barbara Lamson at the synod office. At this point in time I don't believe there can be refunds.

St. Edmund's Retreat is easily accessible from I-95, the main interstate highway serving the east coast.

Proceed south on Route 27 to U.S. Route 1.

Turn left on Route 1, heading north, and proceed to first light.

Turn right onto Mason's Island Road. Bear left at all forks and follow the signs for Enders Island.
