We're just about ready for the Fall 2013 Bishop's Convocation, and can't wait to see you in West Hartford! Just a couple of notes for you to keep in mind as you pack and prepare for three days of faith and fellowship:
Sneakers for Sarah
As you may already know, Pastor Dave Dalzell's wife, Sarah, is currently undergoing treatment for stomach cancer. Pastor Jeff Stalley wrote a lovely blog post explaining why sneakers - specifically Converse All-Stars (the "Chucks" that have been around for ages) hold special meaning for Sarah, her family and her friends. As a show of solidarity, we're inviting you to bring a pair of Chucks to Convo with you, and we're going to set aside a chance to do a group sneaker photo with everyone who wants to show their support for Sarah and Dave during this arduous fight.
Planning to process at the ordination? Rostered leaders, feel free to bring your alb and stole! The color of the day is red. There will also be the opportunity for people to participate in a pick-up choir for the service as well!
