 | A More Tolerant Faith? |
Bishop James Hazelwood reflects on the idea of tolerance - where we have it, where we don't. In defining ourselves as Lutherans - as Christians - do we ever stray from the message of Jesus?

A message from Barbara Debski, Portico Benefit Services:
You've likely heard that health care reform is bringing changes to the ELCA health plan. Portico Benefit Services is preparing new options that will give employers choices to fit their budget. Plan details should be finalized later in 2013. Along with new options, we expect the 2014 ELCA health plan to continue to enhance our leaders' well-being, facilitate the call process, and support ministry throughout this church.
To help you anticipate what's coming, I invite you to check out the new health care reform FAQs on our website for answers to dozens of questions we've heard from plan members and sponsoring employers, such as:
- Why should employers stay in the ELCA health plan?
- Who will make coverage decisions?
- Who will be eligible for a federal subsidy?
As we approach the new environment created by health care reform, Portico is committed to providing resources to help you make informed health care decisions for 2014. Please feel free to share these new FAQs with others and, as always, contact me if you have questions or suggestions about how we can better support you in ministry.
