Dear Friends and Supporters,
As 2012 comes to a close, I want to take a moment to say gracias.
Consejo Counseling & Referral Service is a critical resource for the Latino community in the Puget Sound. Your support has fueled 34 years of culturally competent, community based services for Latino individuals and families. Thank you.
Earlier this year, our staff hosted a Quinceañera for three young women. I was struck by what one of the fathers had to say:
"Thank you for organizing this event. I am a single father of four children. For me it was impossible to make a party for my daughter's Quinceañera. Another thing I want to say is thank you to Consejo, because they have changed my daughter. When she began at Consejo, she was very rebellious. She didn't care about anything. My daughter is more open. . . and more helpful. And she changed a lot. Thank you for these things, because Consejo helped my family. . . my relationship with my daughter. And this thank you is with my heart."
Every day, we see people, young and old, strong enough to take control of their lives and choose new directions. Because of you, more of them have gained control of their lives and futures. They are healthier, safer, and more hopeful. Thank you.
