Three team members were recognized for their long-standing service; Zaneta, Staff Accountant for 5 years; Ray, Carpenter for 10 years; and Steve, Superintendent for 35 years. The weather was perfect, the food amazing and we all enjoyed a great day together.

Jon Gordon, author of many leadership books, has a weekly newsletter that focuses on a leadership skill each week. One of his recent newsletters discussed "5 Ways to Stay Positive When Others Are Not." Here are some of the highlights:
- "Every day focus on being the best you can be and bring out the best in others while tuning out everything else. Tune out the negativity."
- "Positive energy is much more powerful than negative energy. If you stay positive, the negative can't touch you."
- "When you plant yourself where you are, with a desire to serve and make a difference, you will create very positive conditions for your growth."
- "Few people want to be negative. Most people are negative because of stress, busyness and fear. Most people just need a wake-up call to break out of their rut. Decide to be a beacon of light that shines on others."
- "The best cultures that focus on positive leadership attract the best employees."
Positivity is a choice we are challenged to make each time we interact with people and deal with life's situations. When faced with negativity, see it as a challenge to be even more positive. In doing so, it will help you and the team reach new heights.
Sincerely,
Tim

Steve Hesson: 35 Years of being part of the team
Steve was recently recognized for his long-standing service at R.C. Stevens. We had the opportunity to ask him about how he got started at RCS and the changes he has seen over the years. Here is what he had to say:
"My sister, Linda Pallard, got me a job with RCS way back in the day. She was the executive secretary for 15 years for Allyn Stevens and Dave Smith. Back then, our office was run by just Linda, a receptionist and Elaine and Allie in accounting. "I've seen a lot of changes through the years. The transition from typed contracts, job logs recorded by hand in job booklets, handwritten pay checks by Elaine, to the computer age. Our communication devices were pay phones to schedule our

jobs and call the office. I always had to have a roll of quarters on hand. Then came the pagers in the late 80's to 95, then radios, then the radio cell phones (thank you Dave and Tim for those). No more running to the closest pay phone to make a call. Now we have smart phones, iPads and laptop computers; so much more efficient! I have seen two owners come to pass with Ray and Allyn Stevens, Dave owning the company, and now Tim. "I sure have enjoyed working here at R.C. Stevens through the years. Thanks to all that have enjoyed the ride along with me. I want to encourage the current team that we can enjoy many more years to come." |

Rapport Leadership Breakthrough One
"I'm not telling you it is going to be easy, I'm telling you it's going to be worth it."
-Rapport Leadership
|
The concept of compliance is to make sure that corporations act responsibly and employees avoid injury. As a corporate team, it is our responsibility to encourage and lead each other to be safety compliant in all areas of work regardless if it is in the office or jobsite.
- See someone lifting a heavy box? Help them find a dolly or give them a hand.
- Is the area noisy? Put your earplugs in and offer a pair to your team members.
- Working with someone new? Make sure they know who the safety manager is and where to find information such as the safety manual or safety data sheets.
We are never in a bubble when at work; always think of others when it comes to safety.

2015 CREW Golf Tournament
For the fifth year in a row, R.C.Stevens has supported and played in the annual event.Every year the tournament is themed, with this year's being "Ultimate Tailgate." Cheri and Robin hosted a Florida Gators themed tent at hole 6 and featured a 14 foot goal post and megaphone equipped cheerleader. They were voted by tournament players for having the "Best Tee Party." This is the fourth "Best Tee Party" win for Cheri, and the first of many for Robin.

Insert a Screenshot or Screen Clipping
Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word all have a feature that allows you to quickly and easily add a screenshot to a document you are working in.
Screenshots are static images that are useful for capturing snapshots of information form web pages and other sources whose formatting might not successfully transfer into the file by cutting and pasting. When you click the screenshot button, you can insert the whole program window or use the Screen Clipping tool to select part of a window. You can edit Screenshots to better fit the document you are working in by using the Picture Tools feature. This allows you to crop the screenshot to show the information you wish to include.

Being in shape includes taking care of your skin.
Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the United States. Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun is the main cause of skin cancer, and the most dangerous type is melanoma. Although those with lighter skin are at higher risk of getting skin cancer, people with darker skin may often be diagnosed with skin cancer at a later stage, making it difficult to treat.
The good news? Skin cancer can almost always be cured when it's found and treated early. Coworkers can work together to prevent skin cancer.
Take action when working outdoors to prevent skin cancer:
- Wear sunscreen and encourage team members to do the same.
- When possible, wear long-sleeved shirts.
- Wear wide brimmed hats.
- Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from UVA and UVB rays.
