My article this month lists three ways you could be getting short-changed if your investment manager isn't coordinating with your taxes. So what's my favorite tax planning tip? A Roth IRA, hands down. This month's video has a little-known trick to get you into a Roth, no matter what income tax bracket you happen to be in.
Tip of the Month: 
According to a recent article in Forbes, many wealth managers are not investment experts. On top of that, even fewer  understand the tax code well enough to advise on investment decisions. Should this matter to you? You bet! 
Reading can boost your brain power, and we all want to be smarter, don't we? We're using this section to share a fascinating nonfiction read each month, not necessarily financial. This month, I could hardly stop listening to the "Call the Midwife" trilogy set in post- war London slums. Inspirational, funny, and memorable!
(Almost) Famous Recipes of the Month: 
I have made Emeril Lagasse's Horseradish Coleslaw recipe for years. It's fabulous, but a tad complicated for a quick meal. This version has fewer ingredients (and steps) but yields a similar spicy/tangy/ sweet and oh-so-crisp salad.
