NEW YORK, NY - Words On Dance has presented live conversations between eminent dance artists for 22 years. Now, an exciting new series hosted by Baryshnikov Arts Center will feature three distinctly different pairings: Mark Morris with Surupa Sen (March 23), Christopher Wheeldon with Wendy Whelan (May 24) and David Neumann with Doug Elkins (May 25). By melding conversation with film footage drawn from these artists' own personal collections, audience members get an intimate and immediate view into the creative life of these iconic dancers and choreographers. Tickets are $25. Premium seating including a reception afterwards with the artists is available for $100, and may be purchased at bacnyc.org or via phone by calling 866.811.4111.

"This series offers a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience these artists in a very intimate way," said Deborah M. Kaufman, producer and founder of Words On Dance. "The possibilities are limitless. There is no moderator. No guide. It is just two revered artists sharing their lives, their passions, their insights, their ups and downs. Who could want anything more?"

"Audiences are getting an extremely rare and raw look into the lives of these esteemed artists," says series director Lisa Rinehart. " Having this exciting event at  Baryshnikov Arts Center is the perfect setting for these unique conversations."

"As Balanchine said, 'Ballet is a passing art form. You pass it from body to body, but you must pass it from mind to mind,'" said Edward Villella. "And that is why I'm so excited about what Words On Dance is doing. It provides us with the 'mind' aspect of that Balanchine quote, which is a terrific and needed contribution to the entire field."
