New York, February 27, 2015 - The Chamber Music Society (CMS) presents a bold, lush program of Romantic Piano Quartets on a 12-city tour of North America. A stellar cast, pianist Wu Han, violinist Daniel Hope, violist Paul Neubauer and cellist David Finckel, unite for Mahler's Piano Quartet in A minor; Schumann's Piano Quartet in E-flat major, op. 47; and Brahms's Piano Quartet No. 1 in G minor, op. 25. The artists will embark on an extensive, unprecedented tour from February 28-April 15 which includes stops in the following cities: Richmond, VA (February 28); New York, NY (March 1 and 3); Chicago (March 2); Savannah, GA (April 4); Santa Fe, NM (April 6); Champaign-Urbana, IL (April 7); Toronto, ON (April 8); Washington, DC (April 10); Detroit, MI (April 11); Princeton, NJ (April 13); Vancouver, BC (April 14); and Costa Mesa, CA (April 15). |
|
| To coincide with the tour, the New York performances on March 1 and 3 will be captured live on the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label, masterfully engineered by Grammy Award winner Da-Hong Seeto. The disc will be made available on-site at tour venues, and the artists will be on hand to sign copies following performances. The recording will be broadly released in late April. |
