Earth Day

The EAC organized a tree-planting event in honor of Earth/Arbor Day on Saturday, April 20th along Miriam Drive, nearest Applebutter Road. The EAC members,  many volunteers along with the Park and Rec. committee helped plant 6 maple trees.  A representative from the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resource was also present.  Over the past 2 years, the EAC has planted 17 trees along Miriam Drive - and it looks awesome!  Thanks Everyone!

A Garden Club at Schweitzer Park is now forming. Join with others in planting and maintaining several small flower beds at the park. Areas won't be large in size but hopefully very noticeable and attractive to those who drive by. Conversation and consideration will be given to flower selection so the plantings don't become a meal for the local wildlife. Please email Kathy Mangione if you are interested.

Plumstead Township maintains four public parks for your enjoyment:

  1. Allohaken Park (4731 Landisville Road at Bergstrom Road)
  2. Owls Nest Park (5367 Silo Hill Road)
  3. Jennifer Schweitzer Park (5651 Potters Lane)
  4. Landis Park (4060 Gregory Drive)

While you are encouraged to take advantage of the parks, please do not abuse them by leaving litter behind. Our parks have no garbage cans, so we are expected to leave parks without a trace of our visit. The strict carry in / carry out policy means leaving with all our trash, including food scraps, food packaging, drink containers and dog waste. Please report any maintenance concerns (e.g., damaged equipment) to Plumstead Township Public Works at 215-766-0189, and report any emergencies to the police by calling 911.

The township will do its s part to provide safe, well-maintained open space for residents to enjoy, but we need to do our part to ensure that our parks stay clean.
