The Chicago Experience, the midwest's premiere Chicago tribute band performs a 2-hour concert on the Town Center's Gazebo Stage. The Chicago Experience performs an incredible musical tribute to Chicago that includes spot on versions of such songs as '24 or 6 to 4', 'Does Anyone Really Know What Time It Is', 'I'm a Man', 'Saturday in the Park', 'Been Searching', 'Make Me Smile' and 'Feelin' Stronger Every Day' to name a few. Arrive early to enjoy a picnic meal from the evening's food vendor
Caputo's Fresh Market who begins serving signature dishes from their catering menu at 6 pm
from the Visitor's Center. 

Libido Funk Circus                                  Thursday, August 11th    
Libido Funk Circus, the area's premiere funk and disco band performs a 2-hour concert on the Town Center's Gazebo Stage. LFC perform stellar renditions of funk/disco era songs from such artists as the O'Jays, the Commodores, Sly & the Family Stone, Earth, Wind & Fire, Kool & the Gang, Bee Gees, Ohio Players, and Donna Summers to name a few. Arrive early to enjoy a picnic meal from the evening's food vendor

Partner with Your Police Department in National Night Out

Tuesday, August 2nd, the Village's Police Department invite Carol Stream residents to join with communities nationwide to participate in our 30th Annual National Night Out Against Crime & Drugs. Residents are encouraged to turn on their home's exterior lights and spend the evening hours between 7 PM-DUSK  outdoors with your neighbors on patios, front porches or at a neighborhood block party to show your support for your Police Department's tireless public safety efforts. Residents are invited to attend the Community Barbecue in Community Park that kicks off at 6:00 PM for food, free frozen custard, walk around characters, inflatables, face painting, giant soccer, music, raffle and door prizes as well as FREE school supplies to the first 100 grade school children to attend compliments of the Humanitarian Service Project. Remember-
Lights On, Means Lights Out for Crime!  

School District 93 Hosts NEW STUDENT Registration

Community Consolidated School District 93 will host New Student Registration on Tuesday, August 9th at both District middle schools. Parents of new  students who will attend Carol Stream, Western Trails, Heritage Lakes or Jay Stream Middle Schools are to register at Jay Stream Middle School, 283 El Paso Lane in Carol Stream. Parents of new students who will attend Roy DeShane, Elsie Johnson, Cloverdale or Stratford Middle School are to register at Stratford Middle School, 251 Butterfield Drive in Bloomingdale. New student registration for students pre-K thru 8th grade is scheduled from 7:30 am-1:00 pm and from 4 - 7 pm for those unable to register in the morning session. If you live within the district boundaries and have new neighbors on your block, let them know about this special registration event. Police & Fire Square Off in the Battle of the Badges Blood Drive

Carol Stream Fire Fighters will attempt to return the traveling trophy to their station HQ when they go head-to-head against the Carol Stream Police Department in the 8th Annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive competition.  This year's donor battle will take place on Wednesday, August 10th from 3:30-7:30 PM at the Bielawski Municipal Center.  One whole blood donation takes approximately 30-40 minutes can aid in the treatment and recovery of as many as 4 patients.  All donors will receive a complimentary election-themed Donate Early & Often tee-shirt. Prospective donors can also make an appointment by calling Heartland Blood Center at (1-800) 7TO-GIVE.  Walk in appointments are also welcome.

COOL TRUCKS & HOT WHEELS Touch-a-Truck Event

The Carol Stream Police and Public Works Departments in partnership with the Carol Stream Park and Fire Protection Districts and other service agencies will host a Touch-a-Truck & Emergency Vehicle Show on Saturday, August 6th from 10 AM - 2 PM at
McCaslin Park off North Ave. just west of Morton Rd. Cool off in the Park District's new Splash Pad, play a game or 2 of bags or try your hand at the Basketball Bank Shot game. Pizza from Papa John's will be served and snow cones will be sold for a nominal fee.
'Concert for the Troops' Fundraising Tally
 
The Village and its 2016 Summer Concert sponsors hosted the 7th Annual Concert for the Troop on Thursday, July 14th. The concert headliner 7th Heaven performed 2 incredible sets of music under perfect summer evening sky. The Village Board, staff and our sponsors extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who participated in the 50-50 (Split-the-Pot) raffle in support of Operation Support Our Troops America (OSOTA). Because of your extraordinary generosity, the Village will present OSOTA with a check for $2,000 on behalf of the Carol Stream community to defray the substantial mailing costs the charitY incurs to ship troop care packages overseas.  OSOTA's mission is to support the morale and well-being of American forces by providing comfort, resources and education to them and their families both while they are deployed in harm's way and upon their return.

View the July 4th Parade event on local cable access channel which is channel 6 for Xfinity subscribers or channel 99 for U-Verse subscribers. The rebroadcast schedule is Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 10 am, 2 pm and 8 pm. For those who do not subscribe to cable service, the parade can be viewed on the Village's youtube channel by clicking on the following video link 2016 Parade Video.
The Library Board of Trustees and staff invite the community to attend the 'Go for the Gold' Rio Summer Olympics Celebration scheduled on Sunday, August 7th from 1:30 - 4:30 pm at their facility at 616 Hiawatha Drive. This special kick-off celebration of the Summer Olympic games will include games and prizes, wandering mascots, sports try-outs and a bounce house big enough to fit a baseball team. If you need to recover after all the friendly competition, grab a slushie, make your own gold medal and watch sports videos on a big screen TV. This family fun event has activities for kids of all ages.
St. Andrew United Methodist Hosts GARAGE SALE & CORN BOIL

 

The faith community of St. Andrew United Methodist Church will host their  Annual Garage Sale and Corn Boil on Saturday, August 6th on the grounds of church's campus located at 250 N. Gary Ave. The annual Garage Sale will be held from 8 AM - NOON with proceeds from the sale to help fund the church's ministries to those less fortunate in our community. The Annual Corn Boil will be held from 11 AM - 5 PM. This event is open to the entire community and boiled corn and other food and drinks will be sold for a nominal fee.      

DuPage County Back to School Fair

The 2016
Summer 2013- Back to School Fair
DuPage County Back-to-School Fair will take place on Wednesday, August 3rd from 11 AM - 6 PM at the Odeum Expo Center in Villa Park. This annual event is hosted by the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Joliet and its various partners to prepare children from under-resourced households for the upcoming school year. Service offerings include free school supplies, immunizations, physicals, dental exams, hair cuts as well as legal, employment and financial counseling for parents. 
Children in attendance will enjoy complimentary books, food, carnival games and face paintingParents MUST BRING the following information to the fair:

  * Proof of income such as a pay stub, tax return or public aid card and LINC card).

 * Proof of DuPage County residency such as a photo I.D., an Illinois Driver's License or State I.D. and a recent utility bill or an apartment lease.
 
 * A copy of your child(rens) birth certificate or medical card.
