Cherokee County, Alabama

September 2015
Greetings!

Cherokee County has been blessed to have a great Mayor of Leesburg for the past several years.  It saddens us of the loss of Mayor Ed Mackey.  He was a wonderful person who loved the Town of Leesburg & Cherokee County. As a leader, he was a strong supporter of tourism, industry growth and retention for the economic growth of Cherokee County.  His passion allowed him to be successful in many projects. He was very instrumental in the development and growth of Leesburg Landing, the Industries located in Leesburg, new infrastructure and so much more. He promoted Weiss Lake where ever he went.

He was a true supporter of the Chamber.  He will be truly missed. Our prayers are with the Mackey Family and the Town of Leesburg as they move forward.
