Every baby should have the opportunity to be born healthy. But where can you go to find the support you need to have a healthy pregnancy?
Maria and husband, Jose, were searching for that answer. As a pre-school teacher, Maria understood toddlers, but knew nothing about pregnancy or where to go for help. A coworker recommended MOMS Orange County, so Maria referred herself to the Home Visitation Program.
During her first prenatal home visit, Maria was scared to learn she was at high risk for developing gestational diabetes. Her Home Visitor, Miriam, encouraged her to follow a healthy diet and exercise program, recommended MOMS Orange County's Prenatal Education classes, and continued to support Maria throughout her pregnancy. In August, Maria gave birth to healthy and happy Baby Xavi!
Through MOMS Orange County, Maria received the essential education and one-on-one home visits that helped prevent the onset of gestational diabetes and resulted in a healthy pregnancy.
On this Giving Tuesday, please consider supporting the programs and services that help families have healthy babies. #givingtuesday.
