In recognition of Father's Day, I would like to share Ezra Lunel's journey to fatherhood. Ezra attended MOMS Orange County classes with his wife, Andrea, who was pregnant with their son, Leo. Ezra eagerly jumped at the opportunity to learn more about becoming a new father. He wanted to hold Andrea's hand both literally and metaphorically, and attending classes was a way to gain the skills and knowledge he would need as a new father.
It also completely changed Ezra's views on fatherhood. "Before, I used to think I was just going to be a dad to Leo, but coming to classes with Juan Diego taught me that 'dad' was now my role in society as well. I had an obligation to be a role model not just to my future son, but to others around me," Ezra proudly recalled. After Leo was born, Ezra served as a mentor in our Workshop for New Dads. Ezra is a shining example of someone who, since participating in our programs, has become a role model for new fathers and our community.
Even from birth, children who have an involved father are more likely to be emotionally secure, be confident to explore their surroundings, and, as they grow older, have better social connections with peers.*
At MOMS Orange County, we believe involved, nurturing fathers give babies the best opportunity to grow up happy, healthy and ready to learn. In addition to our home visitation program, fathers get involved by participating in Prenatal Health, Childbirth Preparation, Workshop for New Dads, and Mommy, Daddy & Me classes. Because of supporters like you, we are able to offer these programs at no cost to those who qualify.
Please consider making a tax deductible gift to MOMS Orange County this Father's Day, and help give more fathers, like Ezra, the opportunity to learn how they can support their wives and prepare for a lifelong role as a father.
Thank you,

Chief Executive Officer
