Add Your Company Logo on Invoices, Sales Receipts, and Other Forms logo
To give your printed or emailed company forms that professional look, you can add your company logo to your invoices, estimates, sales receipts, and other forms.

You can use any standard image file format, such as:
  • JPEG file format (.jpg)
  • GIF file format (.gif)
  • Bitmap file format (.bmp)
Note: Bitmaps (.bmp) are slower to redraw when the image file size is over 2MB.

To add your company logo:
  • Choose Lists >Templates
  • Select the form you wish to customize (such as, Your Company Invoice)
  • Open the invoice form to display the Basic Customization window
  • Select the Use Logo checkbox, which opens a window where you can select a logo
  • Click the Select Logo button - for best results, your logo image should be square
  • Click Open to return to the Basic Customization window to preview your logo
  • Click Print Preview button to view a larger preview
  • Click OK

To reposition your company logo:
  • Click Layout Designer button at the bottom of the Basic Customization window
  • Select the logo - QuickBooks normally prints the logo in the upper left corner of the form
  • Drag the logo to a new location within the form - You may need to first move other objects within the form
  • Click OK to return to the Basic Customization window to preview your logo
To resize your company logo:
  • Click Layout Designer button at the bottom of the Basic Customization window
  • Select the object you want to resize - the square dots surrounding the object are called handles
  • Position your mouse on a handle and drag it to change the size of your logo
    •  The corner handles change both the width and height
    •  The side handles change either the height or the width, but not both
    • Click OK to return to the Basic Customization window to preview your logo

When resizing your logo, QuickBooks will keep the original height-to-width ratio of the logo to ensure that the logo graphics will not be distorted when changing the size.

Note: These changes will show on the printed forms and in the Print Preview window.  They do not show onscreen when you are filling in the form.

Bookmarking Frequently Used Reports in Chrome

Are there reports from QuickBooks Online that you frequently run?  You can bookmark these
reports and with the click of a button, view them.  Using Chrome, the preferred browser, here's how to do this:

With the report in QuickBooks Online open, click on the star in the website address bar.  The bookmark box, like the one below, will open.  Type in the name of your report, select the Bookmarks bar for folder and click Done.

Your bookmarked report will now appear below the website address bar.

Any time that you are logged into Quickbooks Online, you can now click on this bookmarked report for immediate viewing. You no longer have to go through the reports menu to access it.

Hiding Items in QuickBooks items
Have you ever wondered how to hide list items you no longer want to use?  This technique works for all lists including customers, vendors, employees, etc.  The following example is using the Item List.
  • Click Lists on the top menu bar
  • Click Item List
  • Right click on the item (or click on the item box in the lower left hand corner)
  • Select Make Item Inactive

This should hide the item from your active list.  If you want to see all inactive items, change the dropdown from Active to All or check the box to Include Inactive and the list will show an X next to the item.  You can reactivate any inactive items by clicking on the X.

New QuickBooks 2015 Featurenew
QuickBooks is always looking for ways to improve. So, in QuickBooks 2015, a new interactive dashboard has been created, which highlights your company's financial activity in various graphs.  From the home page there is a new tab to the right of Home Page titled Insights.

From this tab you can change the date range and click in the graph to drill down to get the detail behind the numbers.  You can click the right or left arrows to view other graphs such as a comparison between the current year and the previous year, top customers by sales, and trends in income and expenses.  You can also click the gear icon on the upper right of the window to customize what is shown.

Stadium Tax for Lambeau Field Ends in Brown Countylambeau

Effective September 30, 2015, the football stadium tax in Brown County will officially end. This 0.5%, in addition to the Wisconsin 5% sales tax, was imposed on purchasers of items used, stored or consumed in Brown County. Businesses making taxable sales, licenses, leases or rentals, or providing taxable services were required to report and pay these amounts on their sales tax returns.

On October 1, 2015, businesses and others selling taxable goods or services to Brown County should no longer collect and pay the 0.5% tax.

If you use QuickBooks, please use the following steps to make this change.

If you have a single "Sales Tax Item" set up as 5.5%:

Click Lists on the top menu bar, click Item List; scroll to the sales tax item, double click to edit and change the tax rate from 5.5% to 5%, click OK

If you have the sales tax set up as a "Sales Tax Group" with the Wisconsin rate at 5% and Stadium tax rate at 0.5%:

Click Lists on the top menu bar, click Item List; scroll to the sales tax item for the Stadium tax, double click to edit and change the tax rate to 0%, click OK.
