Greetings!
As you read this you should have received your ballot for the FY2014 (is it that year already? Where are those flying cars I was promised back in 1963? Or at least jet packs!) Southwest Region officers. If not, you will receive it soon. Please don't delay - vote and send it back as soon as possible.

STRENGTHENING REGIONAL TIES - A SOUTHWEST CELEBRATION
David A. Bishton, RA, CSI, CCS, CCCA
Southwest Region President
The CSI Southwest Region is assembling again, this year in Denver - May 16-18, 2013 - for our annual gathering of CSI members and leaders from across 560,000 square miles of the Southwest USA. This is always a great event, colored uniquely by each chapter host location. In June 2012 we celebrated in Tucson where the chapter hosted a great 3-day leadership and learning event, while arranging for daytime temperatures to stay below 105 or so.

This year we gather in the vibrant atmosphere of downtown Denver - sports, museums, 12 block outdoor retail mall, river walkway, and federal/state buildings highlighted by the gold-leaf dome of the state capitol.

February Construction Starts Slide 7% Nationwide
At a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $435.4 billion, new construction starts in February dropped 7% from the previous month, according to McGraw-Hill Construction, a division of The McGraw-Hill Cos. The loss of momentum was present in two of construction's three main sectors - nonresidential building and nonbuilding construction (public works and electric utilities).
