 Greetings!

This month President Dave Bishton continues the discussion regarding communication within CSI and in particular the Southwest Region. I am having my own adventures in cyberspace, so to speak - having mastered Facebook enough to be dangerous, I am venturing into Twitter land. No, I don't care what my cousin had for breakfast or what Lady Gaga is wearing today. With Dave Bishton's mentoring I am beginning to see the value of Twitter when used for professional purposes. As I go through the learning curve I will report back on my progress (and errors) so that you may learn as well, and maybe decide to give it a try. You should.

Happy holidays!

STAYING IN TOUCH
David A. Bishton, RA, CSI, CCS, CCCA,
Southwest Region President

So what's your situation at the end of the year? 2012 draws to a close with our Southwest Region relatively steady in membership, and working hard as always in chapter outreach activities. We are at 687 members - approximately  where we were in September, but still on the lower end of a 1.5% range for this year. It has been quite a year, and we've all been working hard to stay afloat during uncertain times. The construction economy continues to say "manana" - we think it's going to improve tomorrow, next year, etc. CSI, however, is working hard to make today count.

BEST WISHES, JOE

We regret to announce that our FY2013 Vice-President Joe Morales, CSI, RRO is leaving our Region and is relocating to the central Florida area. He is now working for GAF in their Roofing Division and will be reunited with his colleagues in the Southeast Region. I know the Las Vegas Chapter will miss his leadership presence, and so will we all.

Thanks again, Joe, and best wishes in Florida. We hope to see you in Nashville next year!

NON-TRADITIONAL COMMITTEE CHAIRS NEEDED - WHY?

YES
- To introduce chapter leaders in like positions to fellow Region cannon fodder, no...co-conspirators, no... volunteer leaders (better).
 - To encourage chapter leaders to share (specifically) what works and what doesn't work with other like-minded leaders.
 -  To keep an eye open for resources that would benefit...
