 | Yama Seiki Goodway GS-3000 Series Turning Center Engineered for Heavy-Duty Cutting |

As seen in Production Machining magazine - The Yama Seiki Goodway GS-3000 series turning center featuring a 30-degree true slant bed boxway design is engineered for heavy-duty cutting of large workpieces up to 22" in diameter. The optional live tooling, C-axis, Y-axis and subspindle satisfy the demand for a small footprint heavy-duty machine with milling, drilling and front/back-end turning application capabilities. Off-center milling, drilling and tapping can also be accomplished with Y axis, with travel of 100 mm (±50 mm from the center line). The widely spaced boxway design provides the rigidity needed for heavy-duty and interrupted turning applications.
The low center of gravity 30-degree slant bed design not only provides smooth chip disposal and easier operator access, but also provides the most rigid foundation for the headstock, turret, tailstock, and subspindle, the company says. The rigid design enables long-term, high-precision turning.
Equipped with an A2-8 (A2-11) spindle nose, the turning center features a 4.15" spindle bore; a bar capacity of 4.13"; and 15" hydraulic, three-jaw chuck. The machine's 30-hp, high torque (Fanuc P motor) spindle spins to 2,500 rpm and provides maximum 852 foot-pounds of torque.
The standard 12-station turret with 0.3 sec indexing time and the optional 12-station live turret bring the GS-3000 series the capabilities that allow many turning applications to be completed in one machine, decreasing the loss of accuracy that occurs when a part is transferred manually from one machine to another.

 | OptiPro Hosting Public Tour on October 30th in Support of the Manufacturing Day Movement |
To help support the Manufacturing Day movement, OptiPro will be holding a public tour of our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility on October 30th at 3:00PM. The tour will give attendees a behind-the-scenes look at the day-to-day business operations at OptiPro to combat any preconceived notions about the manufacturing industry in its modern state. Guests will be guided through each area of OptiPro's 20,000 square foot facility, while being educated on how each department works together to develop innovative manufacturing solutions. |
Manufacturing Day is a growing grassroots movement of manufacturers dedicated to overcoming the shared challenges facing manufacturers today. The most pressing issue facing manufacturers is a gap in skilled labor: 600,000 manufacturing jobs are currently unfilled in the United States due to a gap between the job requirements and the skills of those who are applying for them. This gap continues to widen.
Hundreds of manufacturers across the nation participate in Manufacturing Day by hosting open houses, public tours, career workshops and other events. Through this collective effort, Manufacturing Day draws public attention to manufacturing's present-day reality and encourages job seekers to develop the skills they need to qualify for a long-term career in this secure and growing sector of the economy.
OptiPro understands the importance of the Manufacturing Day movement and encourages anyone to attend who is curious about modern manufacturing and who would like to know more about what happens in modern-day manufacturing facilities. This includes students, parents, educators, and the local community in general.
