Mastercam X7 Sneak Preview: Mill/Turn |
 With the release of X7, Mastercam will debut a new product called Mill/Turn. This latest Mastercam module will give the end user full control of the complex multi-tasking machines out in today's market. Mastercam Mill/Turn will feature a cleaner work flow through the software. New post processors and editors will allow easy origination of operations through the part building process. The new dual stream editor allows "sync" or "wait" codes to be generated and placed in the desired location required by the programmer. Now upper and lower turrets, main and sub spindle commands are all visible and are able to be optimized. A "timeline" is generated and the programmer will know precisely at what time during the cycle a certain operation will happen. Mill/Turn will feature full Machine Simulation. A 3-D model of your machine will simulate the programmed operations to further check for collisions and give the programmer real time feedback on what they could expect to happen. Mastercam is starting the BETA program at this state. If you would like to be part of the process, be advised that we are looking for those current customers who have the following machines:
- Mazak Integrex IV Series (100-IV, 200-IV, 300-IV, 400-IV)
- Mazak Integrex i-Series (i-100, i-300, i-400)
- Okuma MULTUS (B200, B300, B400, B750)
- Okuma MULTUS BII (B200II, B300II, B400II)
- Okuma Macturn (250, 350)

Purchase and Install Mastercam in 2012 to Deduct the Cost from 2012 Taxes! |
 Did you know that the Section 179 tax deduction isn't only for large capital purchases? Section 179 can also be applied to software purchases, such as Mastercam! If you are thinking about making the switch to Mastercam, or are considering adding more seats, now is the best time to go for it. Act fast though, because the Section 179 deduction only applies if you have purchased software AND the software is in service during 2012. Below is an example of what Section 179 can add to your bottom line (Please note, cost below is an arbitrary number and does not necessarily reflect cost of Mastercam software. Tech Tip for Installing New Mastercam Maintenance Codes | |
Attention all Maintenance customers: When installing new maintenance codes, you will need to use a new .exe file. If you have a Nethasp, you need the Nethasp.exe file. If you have a standalone Hasp, you will need the hasp.exe file.
