Park Hill Homes in the News:
A beautiful Colonial home on Edgecliff Terrace is the subject of the cover story of the spring renovation issue of Period Homes Magazine. Read about the progression and the art of the renovation as told by the home's owner, an architect with Robert A.M. Stern, and browse the library of exterior and interior photos HERE. This home is also being featured on the Park Hill House and Garden Tour (along with three other historic homes and two gardens) on Sunday, 5/19. More info and to order tickets for the tour.
One of Park Hill's grandest homes, Hudson Cliff House, at 131 Alta Avenue was the subject of the "Living Here" section of "The Journal News" several weekends ago. The 12,000 square foot residence has 10 bathrooms and 10 fireplaces along with panoramic views of the Hudson River and an expansive staircase under an array of stained glass windows. Read why, despite all the wonderful details, it was the staircase that sold the current owners when they bought the house in 2005.

More Filming in Yonkers: HBO's "Boardwalk Empire" was recently back at Yonkers train station shooting scenes for their new upcoming season. Actors in period costume milled about and production trucks and equipment lined the streets. A pilot for a new CBS drama "Hostage" starring Toni Colette was also filming in the Yonkers neighborhood of Lawrence Park West and another CBS pilot "The Ordained" spent a day shooting in City Hall's ceremonial courtroom, the location for some of the courtroom scenes in the HBO hit "The Soprano's." Seems like Yonkers is indeed "film friendly" these days. So keep any eye out when you're watching TV this fall...it's fun to recognize Yonkers locations on the screen.

Hillcrest Films Gets Green Light for "Holy Land." Congratulations to Park Hill resident Peter Cohn (whose company is named after the street in Park Hill) for reaching his goal on the website Kickstarter, enabling him to raise the funds necessary for post-production on his latest documentary "Holy Land." Set in Israel, the film follows three Palestinians and three Israelis over a period of a year and centers around Peter's desire to make a nonpartisan film about the strife and violence in their daily lives. "Holy Land" is Peter's fourth film and he hopes to release it early next year. More about Peter and "Holy Land" in "The Journal News."
