Rain or shine we will have BBQ Lunch at the gym this Friday after school. Last burger lunch before Lent begins.  During Lent lunch will be cheese pizza.
In preparation for Ash Wednesday, please bring last year's palms to the school office or to the Parish Welcome Center BEFORE Fri, Feb 5th.

FYI - They are burned to create the ashes distributed on Ash Wednesday.

Soles4Souls
SAVE THE DATE...February 16h-23rd Shoe collection
Together with Grades of Green, AMS Jr. High Students will be collecting shoes for "Soles4Souls" for ONE WEEK ONLY! Bring your old (gently used) shoes and help us put shoes on the feet of over 300 million Children around the world who are shoeless. Look for collection bins in the school office, at the AMS 5K and after all Masses February 21-22.  Please tie laces together or rubber band to keep shoes in pairs. Thank you!  


AMS Used Uniform Sale - Sunday, February 7th
Uniforms
Have your students outgrown their school uniforms or need something?  Support the school library by purchasing from our Uniform Recycle Program. Volunteers wash, dye, and spruce up used uniforms and resell them at great prices.  All the proceeds go to the school library!

Sunday, Feb. 7th after the 7:00, 8:00 and 9:30 Masses in O'Donnal Hall.  Bring the family to enjoy pancake breakfast while you shop!

Student Art & Photography Contest 
The Neptunian Woman's Club of Manhattan Beach is sponsoring its 38th Student Art and Photography Contest for grades K-5 (art) and 6-12 (art and photography). Deadline for submission to the school office is February 22, 2016 before 3pm.  An awards ceremony will be held on Sunday March 6th, 2016 at 1pm in the Neptunian clubhouse.

Mustang Players (Session 2)
An after -school drama program offered to AMS students
 
We are very excited to announce the return of the Mustang Players. Mrs. Laniosz and Mrs. Halushka will teach this after school program. Mustang Players helps to promote student's confidence, enhances their teamwork abilities and discovers their talents as we work towards our production. The cost of this program is $75.00.
 
Mustang Players is offered to all children in grades 1-8.  Classes will be held every Tuesday starting February 9th at O'Donnell Hall.  We will meet at the flagpole immediately following dismissal and walk together to O'Donnell Hall. Classes will go till 4:30 and it is important that your child is picked up from O'Donnell Hall promptly at that time. Our performances are scheduled for May and will not interfere with 1st Communion Practice.
 
Mustang Players is a serious commitment. Students will be expected to attend every rehearsal and all performances. They will be responsible for bringing their script to every rehearsal as well as practicing the songs at home.
 
If you are interested in becoming a Mustang Player, please fill out this form include payment and return to the office NO LATER than Friday, February 5th.  REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE THAT DAY.

Bunny time
We are collecting new stuffed animals for the children residing at The Good Shepherd Center for their Easter baskets. This center serves approximately 1,000 homeless women and children annually, and houses up to 93 women and 45 children each night. Through comprehensive programs, they help homeless women every step of the way, giving them the tools and support they need to achieve self-sufficient lives.
Bring your plush bunnies, ducks, giraffes, etc to the school office before Mon, March 21. Thank you for donating to this worthy cause.

Circle of Friends invites you to join us on Friday, February 12th at 7pm in the Holy Family House.   We are a small community made up of persons with intellectual disability, their family and friends, particularly young friends, who meet regularly in a Christian spirit to share friendship, pray together, sing, play, share a meal, and celebrate life.
