Rutgers Commencement Speakers Featured on CBS Evening News

Two of Rutgers' 2015 commencement speakers, Jon Bon Jovi and Bill Nye, opened and closed the May 26th CBS Evening News segment about graduation ceremonies around the nation. The song Bon Jovi wrote specifically for the Rutgers University - Camden commencement opened the broadcast and served as the segment's recurring theme; Nye's comments challenging 2015's graduates to "Change the world!" closed the broadcast.  Watch here.
RU-Newark Funds Initiative for Multidisciplinary Research Teams

Rutgers University-Newark has awarded faculty more than $420,000 in grants to support research on crime forecasting in the United States, Chinese multinational corporations, African-American brain health, Autism Spectrum Disorders, traumatic brain injury-induced maladies and intestinal cell dysfunction. Six research projects under RU-Newark's new program, Initiative for Multidisciplinary Research Teams (IMRT) Awards, received individual grants ranging from $26,720 to $80,000. More
New Provost Appointed at RU-Camden
Michael Palis, a professor of computer science at Rutgers University-Camden, has been appointed provost. Palis will serve as chief academic officer for Rutgers-Camden, which enrolls 6,535 students in 36 undergraduate majors and 29 graduate programs. Palis will work with Rutgers-Camden's academic units to ensure that rigorous standards for curriculum and faculty development are achieved. Palis is internationally recognized for his research in algorithms and parallel and distributed computing.
