Reading Logs due August 21 before 5 p.m.!
You've Still Got Time! Sign Up for Teen Summer Reading!
If you're going into 6th - 12th grades next fall, sign up for the Teen Summer Reading Program online or at the Information Desk, where you can pick up the reading log with all the rules. Turn in your reading log before 5 p.m. on Friday, August 21 for prizes and tickets that give you a chance to win one of the Grand Prizes!

We'll draw for the Grand Prize winners and hand out prizes to the Top 25 Readers at the final party on Saturday, August 22 at 3 p.m. at the Marion Pool. Come for a chance to win a door prize and get a free pool pass for the afternoon.

Anime Club
Monday, August 3, 4 - 5:30 p.m.
Join us every month in Meeting Room A to hang out with other people who love anime as we watch shows and eat Japanese snacks.

Anime Club meets the first Monday of each month EXCEPT in September, when we postpone to the second Monday. Mark your calendars for the next meeting on September 14 in Meeting Room B!
More Minecraft!
Monday, August 17, 6:30 - 8 p.m.
Create with other Minecrafters on the library's server! Choose from:
  • Survival Mode, where you have to build shelter and find food before fending off the monsters;
  • Creative Mode, where you can fly, explore, and build anything you want;
  • Spleef, where your goal is to drop your opponents out of the bottom of the world; and
  • Hunger Games, where you can show off your battle skills and be the last one standing
The library has a limited number of Minecraft accounts and laptops, so sign up soon for first shot! If we have more people than accounts and computers, we'll take turns with the library's equipment. While you wait, we have Minecraft on Xbox for up to four players.

If you have your own account or laptop, please let us know when you register. The more computers and accounts we have to work with, the more Minecraft fun for everyone!

All Minecrafters going into first grade through high school are welcome; kids under 9 must be accompanied by a caregiver.

Vote for YOUR

But don't worry; you've still got plenty of time to read through the nominees for this year's Teens' Top Ten list. Find them on the display in the Teen area or find the list on the Teen Reads section of the library's website.

Then go to www.ala.org/yalsa/reads4teens starting August 15 through Teen Read Week (October 18-24) to vote for the best! Winners will be announced the next week.
