Christmas in the Park @ the Library
Friday, December 5 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
The Marion Library participates in the community's annual Christmas in the Park event. Something new this year will be a story book walk as you wait in the park to see Santa. Our Friends of the Library group will host a holiday book and media sale from 4:00 to 7:00; we will also be hosting a Scholastic book fair fundraiser. Kids can stop in and create festive cinnamon tree ornaments between 5:00 and 7:00. Enjoy our fabulous tuba ensemble as they perform holiday favorites from 6:00 to 6:30. And bring in your letters to Santa - we have a mailbox with a direct line to the North Pole right in our lobby throughout December!
Come in and get warmed up at the library!

Saturday, December 20 11:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Come join stamper Nancy Kee at our monthly drop-in Stampin' Up workshops. She will show you some of her favorite techniques. Use the Big Shot to see how the embossing folders and Framelits work (and take home your samples).
All ages are welcome; children should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Stop in any time between 11:00 and 4:00. Nancy is an independent demonstrator for Stampin' Up.

All-Ages Reading Program Underway
Book a Trip with us at the library! This year-round reading program couldn't be easier: we have logs with maps available for everyone, and all you have to do is read books.
Fill in the book title for each state on your Book a Trip log as you read a book that either takes place in that state, is about that state, or is by an author who is from that state. Read fiction or non-fiction.
We've provided lists of suggested titles at our website for kids, teens, and adults - but you're welcome to choose your own titles, too! When you've read a book from all 50 states, come to the Children's Desk or Information Desk for a special prize!
We have a huge map of the United States here at the library, and when you check off a state on your reading log, you can come in and get a colored dot from one of our friendly staff, then go put it on the state you've just finished!
We can all have fun watching as Marion Library readers read their way across America!
There's no deadline, so take as long as you want.
