Special Dance Class
Wednesday, August 6th at 1:30 p.m.
Come to the library for a free dance class presented by Prestige Dance Studio Cedar Rapids. Prestige Dance is dedicated to developing talent at both the recreational and competitive level. They provide every student a solid foundation for dance and encourage every student to discover their strengths through confidence building, teamwork, and personal growth. (For ages 3-10)

All preschoolers are invited to join Sylvan Learning as they read Pete the Cat followed by singing, dancing and fun activities! Pete the cat is a groovy blue cat. He likes movin', groovin' and schoolin'. No matter where he goes, Pete the Cat always keeps his cool!

All school-aged kids are invited to join Sylvan Learning as they read a selection of Dr. Seuss books, to find out about their Book Adventure--a free online reading resource for children ages K-8. Bookadventure.com is a fun, free way to motivate your child to read! Kids can search for books, read them offline, come back to take a quiz on what they've read, and earn prizes for their reading success. What an adventure!

Come join Miss Amy from Orchestra Iowa Sch ool for a Music Together class. Music Together® is a program designed to help parents nurture their child's musical growth. It provides developmentally appropriate music and movement instruction to infant, toddler and preschool children and their parents or caregivers. The Music Together approach develops every child's birthright of basic music competence by encouraging the actual music experience.

Really like coffee? Then Babble & Brew is for you! We will have high-quality coffee from Wit's End Coffeehouse for the adults, and lots of exciting and age-appropriate toys for the kiddos (newborns-preschoolers).

Summer Meals
Monday-Friday, 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. June 16th-August 15th
 The Marion Public Library and Horizons Family Services will offer a Free Lunch Program this summer. Any child under 18 can get a FREE lunch here at the library Monday-Friday. Feed your body and feed your brain by checking out books, using our computers, or attending one of our programs.

On Their Own and Ok
This program is FULL. A reminder for those who are signed up that your child must attend each session on August 4th, 5th, 11th and 12th. On Their Own & Ok, taught by the ISU Extension, will take place in four sessions from 12:30-2:00 p.m.

Doodlebugs: Fauvism
Tuesday, August 26th at 10:45 a.m.

Join us for our final session in our Doodlebugs "isms" series. Matisse was the father of the Fauves (which means "wild beasts" in French). Make your own torn-paper collage like his Beasts of the Sea.
Doodlebugs is a hands-on art appreciation class for preschoolers and their caregivers made possible by the Cedar Rapids Art Museum. We share stories, learn about how art is made and about the lives of famous artists, then we make our own masterpieces!
