Get to Know Your City Officials and Win a Kindle Fire
Program: City Services Open House
Date: Saturday, April 26
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Spend a little time at City Square Park on April 26, where Marion city departments will have booths set up and be ready to answer your questions about city services. There will be plenty of activity, including a bike rodeo, infant car seat safety check, free bike helmets, a water cannon, dress up like your favorite city employee, balloon animals, face painting, and cake served by Mayor Bouska! Several city departments, such as Fire and Public Services, will have some of their vehicles and equipment available to admire, and your city councilors will be there, too. Visit the library's booth to learn about our expansion plans, and stop over at the library where kids can create a birthday card to the City! Have your "bingo" card stamped at the various booths and activity stations, then turn it in for a chance to win a Kindle Fire!

Win $1000!
Program: Dash for the Stash (part of Money Smart Week)
Dates: April 5-12
This statewide Money Smart Week event is similar to a scavenger hunt, but instead of searching for things, players will collect information and leave answers to quiz questions. To play, participants come to the library and find four posters. Read each poster, access the quiz question and choose an answer. Most folks play using smart phones (scan the QR Code on the posters) and other mobile devices, though you can use a computer, too. One lucky player will win $1,000 for an IRA (Individual Retirement Account), and everyone will learn a little about smart investing.
