A boy born with distorted facial features struggles to fit in with his fifth grade peers. Tweens, parents, and critics alike are raving about this remarkable story and its meditation on choosing kindness and the discomfort around difference. March 18. We'll talk about Half Broke Horses: A True-life Novel by Jeannette Wells. A fictionalized version of the author's West Texan grandmother--Laura Ingalls Wilder, for adults. And if you haven't already read The Glass Castle: A Memoir, also by Jeannette Wells--it will be useful, but not essential, to read it first!
