Explore New Worlds!

Program: Coffeehouse Fiction

Date: Tuesday, January 21

Time: 4:00 p.m.

Our Coffeehouse Fiction books discussions will challenge you to read books that may not have captured your attention before. Looking for a fun group where you can share books? Even if you don't care for a book, or if it wouldn't have been something you chose, talking about it with others will often give you a new perspective. For our January  Coffeehouse Fiction discussion, we are reading City of Women, by David Gillham; pick up a copy, then join us to talk about it at Wit's End Coffeehouse (630 10th St, Marion). The library will buy you a treat from the coffeehouse; you can purchase a beverage of your choice if you like. Maybe Cathy will have the fireplace on for us! Hope to see you there.

 Making the Most of Your
Social Security Benefits
What You Can Do Today!

Date: Thursday, January 23

Time: 6:30 p.m.

How will Social Security fit into your retirement planning picture? Currently, Social Security payments represent about 40 percent of retirees' income. Yet, many Americans still believe their Social Security payments will finance 100 percent of their retirement.

Unlike our parents' generation, we can't rely as heavily on Social Security to supplement our retirement income. The Social Security system is facing serious financial issues that have reduced benefits and increased the age at which recipients can receive full retirement benefits.

Join us and we'll help you determine what you can anticipate receiving from Social Security, when you can expect to start collecting it, and what you may need to do today to have a more comfortable retirement.

Vince Welsh and Mike Walsh from Principal Financial will present this free program; we guarantee you'll learn new things to help you be better prepared for your retirement!
