Exploring Coral Reefs!

Saturday, July 20, 3 - 4 p.m.
Go Beneath the Surface to investigate coral reefs with researchers Danwei Huang and Matthew Tibbits from the University of Iowa. See samples of coral reefs and what slices of coral look like under a microscope.

Masquerade Lock-In and Grand Prize Drawings! | |
Are you signed up for the Masquerade Lock-in? It's the final party, and we've decided there's no limit to the number of people who can come. Sign up today!
From 8 p.m. until midnight, we'll get crazy with photobooth props, play minute-to-win-it games, video games, hide and seek, and more. At the end of the night, we'll draw for the Grand Prizes and give away prizes to the Top 25 readers.
And that's when we count the votes for the costume contest! Wear your best costume/cosplay gear for a chance to win a $20 movie theater gift card.
If you're not sure what costume to wear, we'll have an arts and crafts room set up where you can create and decorate your own mask, as well as make other fun crafts to take home.
Not sure if you're signed up yet for the Masquerade Lock-in? Email Cressant and ask if you're on the list. If you haven't turned in your permission form, please turn it in soon!
We MUST have your permission form by Friday, July 26 at 5 p.m., or you won't be able to attend the lock-in.

July Crafternoons | |
Tuesdays, 3:30 - 5 p.m.
On July 23, dig through a mountain of trash (the non-smelly kind) and create your own unique treasure. Let your imagination go wild with this recycling craft.
And on July 31, make your own souvenir of this summer's library fun by decorating a t-shirt. Please bring your own t-shirt (that way you know it fits). We'll experiment with different stenciling, painting, Sharpie tie-dying, and bleaching techniques.
