Early Out Crafternoon: Paint a Flower Pot
| |
Wednesday, April 10, 1:30 - 4 p.m.
Stop by the library between 1:30 and 4 p.m. to decorate and plant a flower pot. Celebrate spring! Need something to do on those early-out days from school? The library has the answer! Every day that Marion Schools let out early, we'll have something special going on in Meeting Room A. Play video games, board games, watch a movie, make a craft, or just hang out. If you're home-schooled or don't get out of school early on those days, just come when you want!

Anime Club! | |
Monday, April 1, 4 - 5:30 p.m.
Join us every month to hang out with other people who love anime as we watch shows and eat Japanese snacks. If you have your own anime or manga artwork, bring it to show off!
Anime Club meets the first Monday of each month throughout the year. Mark your calendars for the next meeting on May 6!

|
Lego Club! | |
Thursdays, April 11 and 25, 3 - 5 p.m.
Do you love Legos? Who doesn't? Now twice the fun with two Lego Clubs per
month, on the second and fourth Thursdays.
Thanks to all the generous people who donated Legos! Would you like to donate? We'd be glad to take them and share the Lego love! |
Teens in Action Meeting
| |
Saturday, April 13, 3 - 4 p.m.
Teens in Action (TIA) is the library's teen advisory board, which means TIA members get to decorate the Teen area, voice their opinions on upcoming events, and suggest books, music, and movies the library should buy.
We're always looking for new members. Come to the meeting on Saturday, April 13 at 3 p.m. and find out what it's all about. Anyone in grades 6 - 12 can join TIA. Homeschooled? We'd love to hear your ideas too! Any questions? Contact Cressant, the Teen Librarian at cswarts@cityofmarion.org.

Teen Writers | |
Thursday, April 18, 3:30 - 5 p.m.
April is National Poetry Month. Bring your poetry to share!
Do you love to write or want to learn while hanging out with other teen writers? This is the place to be! What can you write? Anything you want. Poetry, a zombie romance, your life story as told by your dog, whatever. Share your stories and poetry, ask for feedback, and get ideas. Need a kick in the butt to keep the words flowing? That's what writing buddies are for.
Teen Writers meets on the third Thursday of each month in the Conference Room. Drop by anytime 3:30 - 5 p.m. Open to grades 6-12.

Earth Day Party
| |
Monday, April 22, 3:30 - 5 p.m.
Celebrate Earth Day by experimenting with natural batteries (did you know you can power a light with a potato?). Reduce, reuse, and recycle by making cool crafts with the library's discarded books. And if you didn't decorate and plant a flower pot earlier this month, here's your chance!
