Let the Games Begin! Teen Winter Reading

Program ends on February 15!
There's still time to register for the teen winter reading program! Sign up from home on the library's website or at the Information Desk in the library. Print a reading log from the website or pick one up at the Info Desk and you're all set!
This winter the reading log is a bingo sheet where you can track the time you read and get credit for using the library and coming to events. When you get a bingo, bring your log to the Information Desk to pick a prize and get a Grand Prize Ticket.
Coming up are an Early-Out Game Day on Wednesday, February 6, 1:30 - 4 and the final party, with games, food, and prize drawings, will be on Friday, February 15 at 3:30. Reading logs are due before the party.
Find the complete list of events in your reading log, and don't forget: you get an extra Grand Prize Ticket for each event you attend!

Anime Club! | |
Monday, February 4, 4 - 5:30 p.m.
Join us every month to hang out with other people who love anime and watch some shows. This month, we'll watch Fairy Tail and eat Japanese snacks. If you have your own anime or manga artwork, bring it and show it off before we get down to the video.
Anime Club meets the first Monday of each month throughout the year. Mark your calendars for the next meeting on March 4!

Teen Writers | |
Thursday, February 21, 3:30 - 5 p.m.
Do you love to write or want to learn while hanging out with other Teen writers? This is the place to be! What can you write? Anything you want. Poetry, a zombie romance, your life story as told by your dog, whatever.
Get ideas, talk with other writers, ask for feedback. Need a kick in the butt to keep the words flowing? That's what writing buddies are for.
Teen Writers will meet on the third Thursday of each month in the Conference Room. Drop by anytime 3:30 - 5 p.m. Open to anyone in grades 6-12.

Celebrate Writing! Come to the Library Author Fair | |

Author Sarah Prineas will talk about writing on a panel at 11 a.m. and will read from one of her books at 2:10 p.m.

Do you want to learn more about writing from published authors? Come to the library's first Author Fair on Saturday, February 16. Hear authors speak on the topics below, then stick around to talk to them in person and hear them read from their books. Want to eat lunch with the authors? Reserve your boxed lunch for $5 by February 13 by emailing Jo at jpearson@cityofmarion.org.

 Do you love Legos? Who doesn't? If you want to design, build, and create with our stash of donated Legos, come on February 28th after school. Create a masterpiece and become internet-famous when we post your creations to our Facebook page. Be sure to check out the photos from last month!
