AZMERIT TEST SCHEDULE BELOW
Students currently enrolled in High School level English and Mathematics classes that satisfy the first three credits required for graduation in these courses will take end of course assessments that will test their proficiency in these subjects: English I, II, III Algebra I, II and Geometry which includes Geometry/Trigonometry.

This is a late start for students who are not testing.

SAGUARO CHOIR PRESENTS:  "A CENTURY OF SONG"
May 7 & 8, 7:00 pm, Auditorium
Saguaro Choir presents their final production of the year, "A Century of Song, a musical tour through the decades. Invite your family and friends for a musical delight, silent auction, and ice cream floats.
Tickets are $7 for students and senior citizens, $10 for adults.
Reserved seating $15. 
 
TOWN HALL MEETING ON UNDERAGE DRINKING, MARIJUANA, AND PRESCRIPTION DRUGS
April 22, 6:00-8:00 pm, Mohave District Annex A & B
The Scottsdale Neighborhoods in Action coalition is offering an opportunity for parents and community members to learn about underage drinking and substance abuse among youth in Scottsdale. All Saguaro families are invited to attend what promises to be an eye-opening panel discussion on underage drinking, marijuana use, and prescription drug use among teenagers.

THE STAKES ARE HIGH FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION:
LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD
May 7, 5:00-7:30 pm, Coronado High School
Superintendent Douglas has launched a "We are Listening" tour to meet with residents in an open forum. Let's show up and make sure she truly hears what we want and expect from her. Education funding aside, there are still a lot of decisions coming that have high stakes for our kids.  You also may submit your feedback via email at HearingEveryVoice@az.gov, online at www.azed.gov/HearingEveryVoice, or via the azedschools Twitter account: #HearingEveryVoice.
 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR VISION & HEARING SCREENING FOR NEXT ACADEMIC YEAR:  SEPTEMBER 22, 2015
School Nurse Tillinghast is looking ahead to next year's Vision & Hearing Screening, which is an all-day event.  Volunteers, please mark your calendars - and watch next year's Happenings for details.  If you know you would like to volunteer, please email Nurse Tillinghast at ntillinghast@susd.org or call her at 480-484-7111.

Register and Pay Your Fee!
All graduating seniors are welcome and encouraged to attend Project Grad, a huge drug- and alcohol-free party immediately following the graduation ceremony. All students must be registered with parent permission.   In addition, all students are asked to pay the $100 donation fee (the party costs much more than the $100-per-student fee).  If you cannot pay the fee and would like to be considered for scholarship donation, please contact Cheryl White at rclbwhite@cox.net.

Gift Cards, Event Tickets, and Boxers Needed For Project Grad

Every year, Project Grad hosts a party for all graduating seniors right after the graduation ceremony. One of the most popular activities each year is Boxer Bingo.  Boxer donations are needed (new, please) - and we are looking for all sizes, all styles, goofy and fun styles welcome (yes, the Superman boxers with cape are popular!)  There is a donation box in the Saguaro office - feel free to leave your boxer donation in the box.  We also need gift cards for anything teenagers might enjoy.  If you have items to donate, please contact Jennifer Meadows at meadowsdjgd@gmail.com. To sign up:

2) Once directed to the product page, click "Enroll Now"

One way our PTO raises money is through the Fry's Community Rewards program.  It is easy:  if you have a Fry's card, simply link it to our organization and we earn money every time you shop!

*Select 'Sign-In.'

*Enter your email and password then select 'sign in.'

*Select 'My Account', you should see Account Summary at the top.

*Under Select Your Organization: Select box next to our organization.

*Then select 'save changes.'
