WINNER OF PROJECT GRAD $50 GIFT CARD
Congrats to Jessica Reega, who has won the $50 gift card for registering early for Project Graduation!   All seniors who registered and paid their $100 fee by January 15th were eligible.  In addition, every senior who registered and paid by the 15th will get extra prize tickets on the night of the event!  Project Grad is a post-graduation alcohol- and drug-free party, hosted by the PTO's Project Grad committee, for all seniors on graduation night.  FOR MORE INFORMATION ON PROJECT GRAD, CLICK HERE.
 
SAGUARO DECA STUDENTS WIN MEDALS AT DISTRICT CONFERENCE
Congratulations to Saguaro DECA for their fantastic work at the 2015 Central District Conference. Congratulations to the following for winning medals for either their test score or role play. Sydney Allen, Justice Stephan, Able Aldape, Bethany Shumway. Finally congrats to the teams of Nicole Varda/Paige Corbin and Sam Downey/Matt Fleming for their overall first place win in their section.

 
SUSD HOSTS ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS MASTER PLAN COMMUNITY MEETINGS
WHAT:
Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) is similar to many school districts facing uneven enrollment, excess capacity, aging facilities and future growth as neighborhoods evolve. SUSD families and community members are being asked to help shape our elementary school facilities to meet the changing needs of Scottsdale.

Our schools are community assets. SUSD is seeking the values, priorities and input of its stakeholders to identify the criteria that our community deems important in the development of the elementary facilities master plan. The plan is being developed with a framework based on stakeholder feedback.  Best practices to be considered in addressing the issues faced are:

·         Health, safety, security and efficiency

·         Right-sizing schools to support enrollment and current teaching and learning methods

·         Consolidation and boundary adjustments

·         Proper spaces to support collaboration, project-based work, online assessments and community partnerships

EVIT EXPO
SATURDAY, JANUARY 24th, 9:00 AM-1:00 PM 
Here's a great opportunity to visit the EVIT Main Campus in Mesa for their annual Open House on Jan. 24th from 9 AM to 1 PM!  You can bring your family and friends!  The Recording Studio and the on campus restaurant, Bistro 13, will have their Grand Opening!  Campus tours and trolley rides are provided on campus and all activities are free.  You do not need to sign up to attend.  EVIT has over 40 tuition-free, career specific classes for high school students and they also offer classes for adults. EVIT BOOT CAMP:  SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 7th, 8:00-11:00 AM
If you want to learn more about a specific program at EVIT, Boot Camp is a great opportunity to experience a class on Feb. 7th from 8 AM to 11 AM.  You must sign up to attend at www.evit.com/bootcamp.  This is a free activity and you can contact EVIT at (480) 461-4000 if you need more information.

BOXERS NEEDED FOR PROJECT GRAD'S BOXER BINGO
Every year, Project Grad hosts a party for all graduating seniors right after the graduation ceremony. One of the most popular activities each year is Boxer Bingo.  Boxer donations are needed (new, pleaae) - and we are looking for all sizes, all styles, goofy and fun styles welcome (yes, the Superman boxers with cape are popular!)  There is a donation box in the Saguaro office - feel free to leave your boxer donation in the box.  THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING PROJECT GRAD!

ATTENTION, SENIORS: 

SCOTTSDALE COMMUNITY COLLEGE OPEN HOUSE 

February 20th, 9:00 am-1:00 pm 
Seniors are invited to attend the SCC Open House on Feb. 20th.  This is a great opportunity to explore and experience what SCC has to offer!  The field trip will take place from 9 AM to 1 PM.  You must sign up in the Guidance Office with the Guidance Secretary, Mrs. Cindy Breen, by Friday, Feb. 6th.  When signing up, you will select 4 Breakout Sessions to attend that day.  You must also pick up a field trip permission slip and bring it back to the Guidance Office by Feb. 6th.  Bus transportation is required and lunch will be provided.  Space is limited so sign up early!

The price is just $65 until Winter Break - after that, it goes up to $80.  You can order in the bookstore or online.
