SABERCATS YOUTH BASEBALL "CATS CAMP"
FOR BOYS AND GIRLS AGES 6-14
December 28-30

Saguaro Baseball Head Coach Joe Muecke, assisted by Saguaro baseball players, will be holding a camp for youth baseball players (ages 6-14) to help them develop the skills they will need to become a more complete baseball player.  The 3-day "Cats Camp" youth baseball camp will be held December 28-30 at Saguaro's varsity field.  Spread the word to all of your friends who have young baseball players - both boys and girls are welcome!

 
DONATE TO SAGUARO HIGH SCHOOL 
AND RECEIVE A STATE TAX CREDIT
Must be postmarked or received online by 12/31/14
Now is the time to make your tax credit contribution and help provide educational opportunities for Saguaro students. The State tax credit program provides you a dollar-for-dollar tax credit of up to $200 for individual filers or $400 for married filers for contributions made to Saguaro.  You can claim the tax credit when filing your Arizona State Income Tax return.   (In effect, instead of paying Arizona that $200 or $400, you are donating it to Saguaro.)    
Your tax credit can be used for the following extracurricular activities, and you may earmark the funds for your child:
* Tutoring 
* Field trips 
* Enrichment programs
* Athletic programs
* If the program isn't listed on the Tax Credit form, please write in the program under other.
BE SURE TO SPECIFY SAGUARO, THE EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITY TO WHICH YOU WISH TO DONATE, AND YOUR CHILD'S NAME IF YOUR CHILD IS PARTICIPATING IN THAT ACTIVITY.

Here is how to contribute to Saguaro High School:
1) Mail to Saguaro (must be postmarked by December 31st).
Remember to include tax credit form. Specify Saguaro and the program you wish to support.  If you wish the donation to go directly to your child's participation in that activity, print your child's name on the form next to the designated program.
2) Donate online by December 31st.
THE ONLINE PAYMENT FORM IS USER FRIENDLY!  YOU CAN SELECT SAGUARO HIGH SCHOOL AND YOUR DESIGNATED ACTIVITY FROM A PULL-DOWN MENU AND EVEN SPECIFY YOUR STUDENT.  NO NEED TO LOG IN - SO TELL YOUR RELATIVES THEY CAN EASILY DONATE ONLINE!
Who can participate:
·         Any State taxpayer - you, neighbors, relatives!
·         Local businesses by partnering with schools or communicating to employees to make a contribution and take their tax credit.
·         Corporations through matching employee contributions.

EVIT (EAST VALLEY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY)
Important Deadlines
If you're planning to attend the East Valley Institute of Technology during the next school year (2015-16), your completed application must be received in the Guidance Office by Thursday, January 15th. EVIT Advisors will be on the Saguaro Campus on Tuesday, January 20th, and passes will be sent to all students with completed applications.  All EVIT programs use the same application, except for Cosmetology.  Both applications are available in the Saguaro Guidance Office.  For Cosmetology, the completed applications must be hand delivered directly to EVIT starting January 5th through February 28th,and this program fills up quickly, so apply as early as possible.  If you have questions, please see your Guidance Counselor.  

 


 
ANNUAL SAGUARO ORCHESTRA RUMMAGE SALE
January 17, 8:00 am-1:00 pm - outside Saguaro auditorium
Mark your calendars for the annual rummage sale benefiting Saguaro Orchestra!  As you are acquiring new gifts and cleaning out the old this season, if you have any items you would like to donate to the rummage sale, they can be dropped off in the auditorium the night before the sale (Friday, January 16) from 4:00-7:00 pm.  Clothing, furniture, books, electronics, music, toys - anything you think others would like to buy would be welcome. Thank you for your support!

YOU COULD WIN A $50 GIFT CARD!
Be sure to sign and turn in the Waiver/Registration Form by January 15th and pay your $100 Fee for a chance to win a $50 gift card and extra prize raffle tickets at Project Grad!  Either turn in the blue form that was handed out to the students at school OR register online using code 2015.  Whether you bring in the form or register online, you are eligible for the drawing!

SCOTTSDALE COMMUNITY COLLEGE OPEN HOUSE 

February 20th, 9:30 am-1:00 pm 
Scottsdale Community College will be hosting its annual open house on FRIDAY FEB. 20, 2015 from 9:30am-1:00pm for Seniors interested in becoming an artichoke.  The event will be held at SCC and is an opportunity for you to learn about the college admissions process, the different academic degree and certificate programs, and what makes SCC unique.  Space is limited. Kaplan Test Prep, in partnership with SUSD, is offering free online test prep to all SUSD students for SAT, ACT and PSAT tests.

To sign up:

2) Once directed to the product page, click "Enroll Now"

*Under Select Your Organization: Select box next to our organization.

*Then select 'save changes.'
