It is with a heavy heart that we report that the override renewal did not pass.  The final vote count was reported Friday evening.  Officially, the override lost by only 237 votes, which is less than half a percentage point.  The voter turnout was higher than expected:  43,000.    The result will be the cutting of another $4.1 million from the SUSD budget. We will keep you updated about ongoing District conversations with regard to the details. Thank you to all of you who voted for our children, who called and campaigned and spoke to neighbors to try and secure the funds necessary to run our schools; your efforts are appreciated. It is critical that we never stop working together and that we continue to build our community of parents, teachers and neighbors dedicated to the education of all our children.  Thank you to our administration for working hard every day to run our school and create a flourishing learning environment. Finally, A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OUR TEACHERS, who continue to teach and inspire our children every day.  Your PTO wants you to know that we admire you, the dedication you demonstrate daily to expanding our children's minds, and the fortitude you exhibit in the face of challenges. We are in awe of all you do, and we will continue to support you in the ways we can!
