Things to bring with you:

1)   School ID with picture - you cannot be admitted without this!

2)   Calculator

3)   Several sharpened #2 pencils

4)   Bottled water

5)   Small, non-refrigerated snack such as a granola bar

It is to your benefit to develop good test taking habits, following are suggestions to enhance your comfort and performance:

1)   Always check and/or replace batteries in your calculator the night before the test.

2)   Don't cram the night before the test and be sure to get a good night's sleep.

3)   Dress in comfortable shoes and layers of clothing so you can adjust for comfort if the room is unusually hot or cold.

4)   Wake up early enough on testing days so you are truly alert when the test begins.

5)   Eat well before you come to the test site.  If you normally drink coffee in the morning don't skip it, but don't start drinking coffee for the first time on a test day, it may make you more jittery than alert.

6)  Consider wearing a watch for testing so you don't have to rely on a wall clock being functional or within your line of sight. 

SUSD's Community Education department will host its 2nd Annual Parent University Project from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on October 26 at Saguaro High School. The Parent University Project provides parents with research-based knowledge, skills and resources to support their children's education and increase student achievement. More than 30 workshops will be offered including:

• College Financial Aid - Why Everyone Should Apply
• Making College Happen
• Why Academically High Achievers Struggle in College
• The Five Biggest Mistakes in College Planning
• Online Learning
• School Safety
• Internet Safety
• Facilitated IEPs
• Drugs, Alcohol, Your Child and You
• Understanding Teen Drug Use & Addiction
• Your Teen & the Law - What Every Parent Should Know
• Plus many more 

There is no cost to attend the event, and free supervised enrichment classes for children 3-14 years old will be offered.  In addition, SUSD student performances will be offered and student art will be exhibited.  In addition, vendors will be present to share information on their programs and SUSD food services will offer a free product comparison that will include food sampling and voting, and parent raffle will be held.
