Looking Toward Sunday - May 1, 2016
6th Sunday of Easter

"A Faithful Response"

Scripture - Acts 16:9-15

The Robert Alexander will preach at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. in the sanctuary and at 9:45 a.m. in Lingle Chapel.

As we continue reading about the work of the early church in Acts we discover that the Holy Spirit invites all kinds of people to faithfully respond to the good news of the gospel.  In this Sunday's lectionary reading we find Paul and his companions responding to God's call to go to Philippi.  We also find a woman named Lydia responding to the call of God through her hospitality and generosity.  How might God be calling you?  How might God be calling us?  Will our response be a faithful one?

The Geneva Choir will sing The Falconer at the 8:30 service.
The Chancel Choir will sing If Ye Love Me at the 11:00 service.

The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated from trays at the 8:30 and 11 services and by intinction at the 9:45 service.

This Sunday we also celebrate the ministry of our SAGES (Senior Adults Growing, Engaging, and Serving).  We honor the faithful response of these members of our community who share so much of themselves in order to further our mission and to build up the Body of Christ here at DCPC and throughout the world.

Ten Cents a Meal Offering will be received at all worship services this Sunday. Please place your donations in the red baskets. If each family at DCPC contributed 30 a day each day for 30 days, that would equal $9 per month.
