Big news! After a successful launch at the SMART Jewelry Show with 60 Participating Exhibitors offering discounts on show purchases, the JA Buyer Discount Program will next be featured at JCK Las Vegas. Attendees who are JA Retail Members can maximize their profits through discounts on finished jewelry, loose diamonds, and other supplies and services they purchase at the JCK Show from Participating Exhibitors. Details:

Jewelers of America is asking jewelry store owners and managers to participate in our annual Cost of Doing Business Survey. It informs the Cost of Doing Business Report, an invaluable benchmarking tool for jewelers. Each week the survey is open, JA will give away a $500 AmEx gift card to a lucky participant. That could be you! Learn about the survey and Report:

TOP TIPS

Social Media Tip: Turn Customers Into Followers & Fans

We all know that customers don't just flock to your social media  after you create your company's Twitter or Instagram accounts and Facebook pages. It can sometimes be a tricky process. JA's social media benefit partner, Likeable Jewelers, suggests the best course of action is to engage pre-existing customers. Here they suggest offline tools -- most you already use daily -- to help you engage this audience and grow your "fans."

While it seems we've battled a tough weather season, April is traditionally the start to weather related disasters. If a tornado, hurricane, earthquake or ice storm struck your community, would your jewelry business be prepared? Most small businesses don't have a plan in place nor the necessary insurance coverage. Get smart about disaster preparedness with these tips from Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company.

Sweepstakes Promotes JA Member Jewelers

The latest sweepstakes hosted by our consumer education arm, Jewelry Information Center, promoted JA Retail Members to consumers in March. With a prize of a $500 gift card that could only be used at members of Jewelers of America, it reinforced the importance of shopping with JA Jewelers. The promotion also encouraged consumers to use JA's "Find a Jeweler" web directory -- and search for JA Member Jewelers near them.

The sweepstakes is a win for all involved. Sweepstakes winner Kayla Shrewsbury spent her prize at her local JA Jeweler: Rinehart Jewelry in Nevada, MO. She got a beautiful piece of jewelry and Rinehart Jewelry got a new customer relationship. JA Membership offers many marketing benefits like this, discover them here.

Weather-related campaigns result in increased store traffic over specific time periods. JA Members save 10% on weather insurance from Weather Insurance Agency. Use it for your Mother's Day and Dads & Grads promotions.
