   Haejin Lee three vessels

Haejin Lee has been a ceramic artist in Seoul, South Korea for over 10 years.  She graduated from Hong-Ik University in Korea, received a Master's degree in Ceramic Art.  Her Sculptural work has won many International awards including MINO International Ceramics Competition and the Hagi Taisho Grand Prix of Contemporary Ceramics in Japan, Cheongju International Craft Competition and the Grand prize at Seoul Contemporary Ceramic Competition in South Korea and Taiwan Ceramics Biennale in Taiwan.

She worked as a lead designer for Kwangjuyo, a renowned traditional Korean ceramics company in South Korea in their design department, and developed styles which reinterpreted Korean traditional shapes to modern sensibility.  She also mastered the shape which cannot be duplicated with machine-run mass production.   Haejin Lee's pieces are each hand-formed and crafted by the artist.

Risa Salsburg -- the Knitter  

  

 

Risa Salsberg is a mixed-media artist based in Vancouver BC, Canada. Her illustrative work is approachable, intimate and contemplative. She has committed to this particular drawing series since 2005. During this process she has created more than 3000 delicate images that document and reflect daily on the transient experiences and subtle emotions of each day.

Salsberg's work has been featured in such venues  shops of the Yokosuka Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo, the Vancouver Art Gallery, and Hollyhock Centre.

 

She began her artistic studies at the Ontario College of Art and later graduated with a Certificate of Studio Arts from Capilano University, North Vancouver. A recipient of numerous awards and scholarships,  Risa's work has been exhibited in Japan and Canada. This is her first exhibition in the U.S.
