Updated General Liability & NEW Sport Accident Insurance
We are excited to announce that in mid April, Paddle Canada's board of directors voted to change insurance providers. We are now working with Holman Insurance Brokers, Markham, Ontario, with our new policies being underwritten by Aviva. This step was taken to offer you the members (and the organization), better coverage which has been an ongoing request from the membership for years. Highlights include:
- $5 Million PC Program Liability Coverage per occurrence with no aggregate limit
- $5 Million Participant to Participant Liability (claim made by a course participant against another participant)
- $1 Million Professional Instructor Liability (Errors and Omissions Liability)
- $50,000 Sport Accident per member per year (coverage is secondary to any other health care plans such as your own provincial)
- Future ability to run courses in the USA (coming soon and where all instructors and participants are Canadian citizens)
- Continued Scouts Canada Agreement to bybass the use of waivers by Scout groups when participating in a PC sanctioned course/clinic.
The use of waivers is mandatory on all other public courses.
Other future options we are looking at (and not yet in place) :
- Paddling Club General Liability & Sport Accident Insurance for club members
- Paddling Club Directors & Officers Insurance
- Low Cost Out of Country Travel Medical Insurance for PC Members
