beginning smocking
Beginning English Smocking -  Typically offered each month as a two class series on the first two Thursdays, 9 to 11 a.m. or 6 to 8 p.m.  February classes will be on the 5th and 12th. Due to our workshop with Trisha Smith, March classes will be on the second and third Thursdays, March 12th and 19th..  Call 501 227-0288 to register.

Picture Smocking -  The program at the February meeting of La Petite Roche, the Little Rock chapter of the Smocking Arts Guild of America, will be a Picture Smocking Class, and guests are invited!  We know that some of you are waiting for a class on picture smocking, and we hope you will take advantage of this opportunity.  The smocking guild will meet at the Stitchin' Post on the second Thursday of the month, February 12th.  Members bring lunch and gather in our cafe room between 11:00 and 11:30 a.m.  The brief business meeting begins at 12 noon, followed by the program.  Not available for lunch?  Just come at noon for the meeting and program.  Please call the store at 501 227-0288 to sign up.  Kit cost will be $5.00.

Beginning Quilting MIni Boot Camp - Saturday, February 7th, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. - This class is for those who would like to learn the core skills of quilting but can't manage a 3 or 4 week class.  While making a table mat, you will learn the basic techniques for cutting, piecing, pressing, layering, basting, quilting, and binding. This is a full day of learning that will give you the foundation for successful quilt making.
This session is full - please call to be placed on the wait list for the next session!

Sew Much Fun! -  Saturday, February 7th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. - OurSew Much Fun class is on the first Saturday of the month.  This month's project is the Rise and Shine Placemats, taught by Stacie Ferguson.
This one is full, and there will not be a Sew Much Fun in March due to our Trisha Smith workshop.  Watch for our April project!

Sweetheart Quilt - Saturday, February 14, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. -  Spend some time on Valentine's Day working on this beautiful applique quilt taught by Stacie Ferguson.  Only 5 kits are available, so call soon!

Woolies Flannel Rag Quilt - Friday, February 13 or Saturday February 21, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. -  This is one of the classes in our 2015 series of projects from Block Magazine.  The February sessions are full, but look for another session to be offered later in the year.  Call us if you would like to be on the wait list!

Introduction to Free Motion Quilting - Saturday, February 28 or Tuesday, March 3, 1 - 4 p.m.  If you have been wanting to try free motion quilting on your sewing machine, join Lucy Neal to learn to basics!

Machine Embroidery Software Class - Saturday, February 28, 10 to 11 a.m. - This class covers a variety of machine embroidery related topics, including aspects of using 4D, 5D, and 6D embroidery software. If you own an embroidery machine, you will find this class useful, and if you have or are considering purchasing software, you won't want to miss it!

Viking Club - Saturday, February 28th, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Join us on the fourth Saturday of the month for Viking Club to learn new ways to use your sewing machine, and to see demos of the newest gadgets and notions! There will be door prizes and lots of fun!  Bring a project for Show and Tell!

Spring Heirloom Workshop with Trisha Smith - March 5, 6, and 7 -  The Thursday and Saturday classes are full, but we would be happy to put your name on the wait list in case of a cancellation.  We have a couple of openings left for the Friday class.  If you love the beauty of heirloom sewing and would like to learn new skills, don't miss this wonderful opportunity to learn from designer and teacher Trisha Smith.  Please see our class calendar for complete registration information!

Sit and Quilt - Our next Sit and Quilt day will be Friday, February 27th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  This is the perfect opportunity to bring an unfinished class project or other quilt project to work on with members of our staff nearby for questions when you need a bit of guidance. Please call to reserve a place. 
Sit and Sew - Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  
Sit and Sew is a great opportunity for those of you with sewing experience who are making children's clothes to come in and enjoy fellowship, with Sharon Chandler available to answer questions when you come to a tough spot! Please call to reserve a place.  
Sewing Classes for Adults and Children - Barbara Steely's sewing classes for adults and children are ongoing.   Barbara currently has limited openings in her adult classes on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday mornings from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.  These classes are suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced seamstresses.  Home School classes are on Wednesday afternoons from 1 to 3 p.m., and openings are available.  After school classes for children and teens are offered on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday afternoons from 3:30 to 5:30, and there are a few available spots.  For more information, please contact Barbara directly at 501 680-4521 or bksteely@gmail.com.

Our Tuesday evening Adult Sewing classes are taught by Martha Douglas. Martha's classes are also suitable for all skill levels including beginners!  For information on openings, please call Martha at 501 920-0929.
