New National Report on Children's Health Insurance Coverage
|
The State Health Access Data Assistance Center recently released a 50-state analysis of trends in children's health insurance. This report finds that the national percentage of children without insurance fell from 9.7 percent in 2008 to 7.5 percent in 2012, despite the recession and a slow economic recovery.
The report also finds that disparities in coverage by race and ethnicity have been reduced -- and Rhode Island's gap in coverage between White and Hispanic children is narrowing. For more information, please see the full national report and the Rhode Island fact sheet.
